  7. Abstract:
  8. Sharif University of Technology Plasma Focus (SUT-PF) is a Mather Type DPF device which has a 39 μF capacitor bank with 14 KV charging ability at its ultimate limit corresponding to 7 KJ stored energy. In the first step of this experiment, a test has been done at three distances 5, 7, 10 cm from anode tip with the different number of shots 20, 30, and 40 at 0 constant angles. In the following, a test is done at 5 and 10 degrees with 40 shots, and PF chamber has been filled up with nitrogen gas. Various tests have carried out for survey of this experiment, the result of which are as follow:The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis are used in order to reveal if the Nickel or Nickel nitride have been coated and whether the deposited layers are composed in a rather crystalline or amorphous manner. The test has shown that the layer of the deposition in a crystalline manner. The XRD analysis has shown that the diameter of the Nickel grains is about 16 nm.The AFM analyses are also used for determining surface topography and it shows that the surface topography in the form of the island which covers all the surface of the Stain-Less steel 304L.The SEM analyses are displayed that surface morphology depends not only on the number of shots but on the distance as well. The porosity of the surface is proportional to the distance between the anode tip and sample. Therefore, by increasing the distance, the porosity of the surface increase until 30 shots, and after that, it will decrease.Nickel ions, obtained from the plasma phenomenon, are frequently placed on the surface of the stain and prevents the other ions from sitting on the Stain Less Steel 304L. Therefore, the amount of deposited Nickel ion on the Stain-Less Steel 304L is associated with a drop. The EDS analyses are shown the same result as the SEM analyses. The Corrosion Resistance analyses are depicted that the Corrosion rate has been improved at the same distance with increasing the shots number. By calculating the slope of the Tafel scheme, the current surface has been evaluated. The more decreasing the current surface, the corrosion rate is improving. The stereographic images of the coated surface with different processing conditions are represented that the amount of Nickel on the surface at the same distance and with an increasing number of shots, increases to 30 shots and then decreases. By considering the constant number of shots and increase distance, the amount of the Nickel increases
