  7. Abstract:
  8. Increasing demand for digital systems has led to developing signal processing in the digital domain. For this purpose, Analog to Digital Converters is used to convert analog signals to digital ones. Apart from that, by decreasing the size of transistors, it has been possible to implement the system on a chip that needs communication between analog and digital signals. The designed converter in this project is suitable for instrumentation purposes and especially for use in the control loop of a DCDC digitally voltage converter. ADC architectures are mainly classified into two groups attributed with high bandwidth or with high resolution. Nature of onchip measurement requires high resolution, low power consumption in spite of the whole power consumption of the system, and low area. In order to achieve high resolution, a continuoustime sigma delta converter with 16 bits resolution, 500mv maximum stable amplitude, 1.5mA current consumption, 15.625 kHz bandwidth, with one channel, DNL and INL less than 1 LSB in 180nmHV BCD CMOS has been designed. Having an antialiasing filter and reducing the area of the chip is some of the benefits of using continuous time sigma delta modulators. In addition, to mitigate both Excess Loop Delay and Clockjitter noise a structure has been introduced, which completely eliminates the negative effect of Excess Loop Delay and increases the SNR 21dB compared to conventional sigma delta modulators. The systematic design has been performed on Matlab and Simulink. Lastly, achieving proper functionality, we carried out the final implementation in Cadence software
