  7. Abstract:
  8. The daily development of societies and the advancement of various industries have led civil engineering to save on and use of environmentally friendly materials. Urban development and population concentration In some areas, Encourages engineers To use materials with more efficiency to design High-rise structures that have more lifetime or maintain them using modern methods. Concrete in most structures has a significant percentage of consumable materials, but it has limited tensile strength and flexibility. Fiber can be used to control the growth of cracks, prolonging useful life, controlling permeability and corrosion. Different types of fibers are used in concrete. In this study, we have tried to find the effects of simultaneous notch and fiber (polypropylene fiber) in the concrete beams. Fiber is usually used as a percentage of concrete volume. This percentage comes from various experiments and If you use a proper percentage, it will have a significant impact on the cracks control. Single-point loading in the middle of the beam is applied with displacement control method. (low speed) Sample beams’s size are 150×150×550 mm. Also in order to avoid reduce in the fluidity and the workability of the mixture and Achieving high strength use superplasticizer and silica fume. Sample beams are made according to the ACI and the effect of the parameters of the notch depth, notch location and concrete strength on the performance including resistance and energy absorption will be investigated. The results indicate The presence of the notch has reduced the capacity of the beam and Whatever More depth And notch position is closer to the middle of the beam This negative effect will be more critical. Although the fibers make Slight improvement in the flexural capacity. The effect of the fiber on the flexural strength is expected to be low, but it improves ductility, fracture energy and controls crack propagations
