  7. Abstract:
  8. Smart heat-sensitive polymers play a unique role in drug delivery systems due to reversible behavior in response to environmental changes, especially temperature changes. Among the heat-sensitive polymers, UCST polymers due to their specific behavior and very little-known polymers with this feature are the subject of many new researches. In the present study, New designed temperature-sensitive polymers with UCST capability based on acrylamide and vinyl acetate were synthesized. These copolymers were synthesized in different percentages of acrylamide by free radical polymerization in solution conditions. All polymers compounds were characterized by H-NMR, FT-IR, DSC and GPC measurements. The nano-structure and the particle-size of the copolymer particles were studied with the scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and the results showed that the average particle size of 20nm for synthesized copolymer. H-NMR method was used to determine the composition of copolymers. In the next part, the UCST behavior of the copolymer solution was investigated by rheological behavior and it was proved that the copolymer is UCST temperature sensitive. The UCST temperature of the copolymer solutions was determined using Turbidity, DLS, DSC and rheology method and the copolymer with 80% acrylamide was selected for the release of the fever drug. Then the UCST change was examined by changing the salts concentration and pH. Finally, the UCST behavior of copolymer and phase transfer temperature in gastric and intestinal conditions for the release of fever drug were characterized by Turbidity, DLS and rheology measurements
