    This research investigates the impact of a new type of latex called Carboxylated Styrene Butadiene Rubber (XSBR) on the mechanical properties and permeability of latex-modified concrete. Latex-modified concretes offer numerous advantages, but a key challenge is the reduction in compressive strength, hindering their widespread use, especially in structural applications. In the initial phase of this study, the influence of XSBR latex is examined, and four different dosages of XSBR latex are incorporated into concrete.     Amino acids and their complex formation properties with divalent metal ions, a comparative investigation of structure and stability in binary systems

    Abstract
    A comparative investigation has been developed for the stability constants of several amino acid complexes with divalent metal ions, which have been determined by potentiometric pH titration. Depending on the metal ion-binding properties, vital differences in the building complexes were observed. The present study indicates that in some M(L) complexes, metal ions are arranged in carboxyl groups, but in other M(L)complexes, some metal ions are able to build chelate over amine groups. The results mentioned-above demonstrate that for some M(L) complexes, the stability constants are also largely determined by the affinity of metal ions for amine group.     The acidity and stability constants of M (MNPPAP) (MNPPAP: 2((4-methyl-5-nitro-6-(pyrrolidine-l-yl)pyrimidine-2-yl)amino)propionic acid) M: Cu2+, Cu (Bpy)2+ (Bpy: 2,2'-Bipyridine), or Cu(Phen) (Phen: 1,10-Phenanthroline) complexes were determined by potentiometric pH titration. It is shown that the stability of the binary Cu (MNPPAP) complex is determined by the basicity of the carboxylate group on one side and amine group on the other side.     Abstract
    An efficient one-pot, three-component synthesis of novel dispiro[oxindole-3,3′-pyrrolidines] by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides, in situ generated by reaction of 1,2-diones with sarcosine and subsequent decarboxylation, with a series of (E)-3-benzylidene-2,3-dihydro- 1H-indol-2-ones is reported. Molecular complexity is generated in only one synthetic step. All reactions proceed with excellent regioselectivity and in good-to-excellent yields.     The promise of graphene for use as a vapor sensor motivated exploration of the vapor responses of graphene nanomesh (GNM) functionalized with single stranded DNA. Devices detected different vapor types, including carboxylic acids, aldehydes, organophosphates, and explosives. As-fabricated GNM field effect transistors (FETs) had larger vapor responses than standard graphene FETs due to the effect of oxidized edges and lattice defects. DNA-GNM devices discriminated between homologous species with detection limits of a few parts per million, with fast response and recovery.     The present study deals with preparing stimuli-responsive poly N-isopropyl acryl amide/chitosan (PNCS) nano hydrogel and looks into their effects as a surface modifying system of cotton fabric. The semi-batch surfactant-free emulsion polymerization method was proposed to reduce the size of particle and synthesis of PNCS nano particles.     Low structure carbon black (CBN330), conductive high structure carbon black (CBXE2B) and carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) were loaded into the blend of natural rubber (NR) and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) at different contents up to 10 phr. Kraus plots showed that all the reinforcements interact with NR/SBR blend appropriately. However, the CBXE2B whose interfacial area is the highest showed greatest value of Kraus interaction parameter. Dynamic swelling, effect of contact time, absorption kinetics and nanocomposite hydrogel mass for removal of crystal violet dyes from aqueous solutions were studied.     This work focused on the design of new pH-responsive nanoparticles for controlled delivery of anticancer drug doxorubicin (Dox). Nanoparticles of poly(methacrylic acid)-polysorbate 80-grafted starch (PMAA-PS 80-g-St) were synthesized by using a one-pot method that enabled simultaneous grafting of PMAA and PS 80 onto starch and nanoparticle formation in an aqueous medium.     Wastewater of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) from a petrochemical plant was examined in a membrane-less single chamber microbial fuel cell for the first time. Time course of voltage during the cell operation cycle had two steady phases, which refers to the fact that metabolism of microorganisms was shifted from highly to less biodegradable carbon sources. The produced power density was 31.8 mW m-2 (normalized per cathode area) and the calculated coulombic efficiency was 2.05 % for a COD removal of 74 % during 21 days.     The kinetics of bioleaching of Mo, Ni, and Al from spent hydrocracking catalyst, using Aspergillus niger was studied. The four most effective bioleaching variables were selected in accordance with the Plackett-Burman design and were further optimized via central composite design (CCD). The optimal values of the variables for maximum multi-metal bioleaching were as follows: particle size 150-212. μm, sucrose 93.8. g/L, pulp density 3%. w/v, and pH 7. The maximum metal recoveries corresponding to these conditions were 99.5 ± 0.4% Mo, 45.8 ± 1.2% Ni, and 13.9 ± 0.1% Al.     The novel coumarin-3-carboxamides (=2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-3-carboxamides) 5a-5g containing lipophilic spacers were synthesized through the Ugi-four-component reaction (Scheme 1). The reactions of aromatic aldehydes 1, 4,4'-oxybis[benzenamine] or 4,4'-methylenebis[benzenamine] as diamine 2, coumarin-3-carboxylic acid (=2-oxo-2H-benzopyran-3-carboxylic acid; 3), and alkyl isocyanides 4 lead to the desired substituted coumarin-3-carboxamides 5a-5g at room temperature with high bond-forming efficiency.     In this study, we attempt to synthesize novel acrylated agarose (ACAG)-based hydrogels with three different crosslinking densities. Acrylate groups were inserted onto agarose (AG) backbone through homogeneous reaction of acrylic monomers with AG backbone.     Alcohol-specific superabsorbing gels (superalcogels) based on non-neutralized acrylic acid (AA, 60-94 mol%) and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) were prepared via solution polymerization in water. Polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate and potassium persulfate were used as crosslinker and initiator, respectively.     This article demonstrates the properties of open-cell flexible polyurethane foams incorporating multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Three different types of highly functionalized nanotubes having carboxyl, hydroxyl and amide functional groups were synthesized. Neat polyurethane foam and three nanocomposite foams filled with 0.1 wt% of treated nanotubes were prepared.
