    Abstract
    The problem of designing optimum filter banks for different applications is a popular research subject. It has also been shown that principal component filter banks (PCFB) are the optimum filter bank for many application. Existing methods to design FIR PCFBs are based on designing energy compaction filters. In this work we concentrate on designing FIR PCFB with the same frequency response as the ideal one.     In this paper CCM/CVM operation and modeling of the Sheppard-Taylor topology is reviewed and a predictive control strategy is applied for a Sheppard-Taylor-based power factor correction (PFC) rectifier. Compared to conventional boost or buck - boost PFC's, this topology allows a better current tracking at the AC side, with a relatively reduced voltage at the DC side.     Abstract
    We propose a range-free localization framework in which a network of randomly deployed acoustic sensors can passively use natural acoustic phenomena within its environment to localize itself. We introduce a novel approach for registration of sensors observations which takes advantage of a clustering technique on triplets of associated observations. A Bayesian filtering method is employed to incrementally improve system state estimation as more observations become available. To the best of our knowledge this is the first work done on range-free passive acoustic localization. Simulation experiments of the proposed algorithms are presented. © 2008 IEEE

    Abstract
    The design of a complex active-RC filter for low-IF Wireless applications is described. Fifth-order complex Butterworth filter is designed using Class-AB operational amplifier architecture. This new structure makes the filter suitable for low power applications with high dynamic range. Simulation results show that the filter provides more than 40 dB image rejection ratio (IIR) and dynamic range of 82dB. The complete filter including on-chip tuning circuit consumes only 4.3mW with 1.8V single supply voltage. © 2007 IEEE

    Abstract
    In this paper, a fourth-order, 3.5-MHz, low-pass elliptic Gm-C filter employing low-noise, low-voltage transconductance amplifiers is presented. A new technique to enhance the linearity of the Gm-C filter is proposed. Furthermore, the nonlinear behavior of the filter caused by nonlinear behavior of transconductors with determined input amplitude is discussed. HSpice simulation results of the 1.8-V filter in a 0.18μm CMOS process show a THD of less than 44dB for 0.6Vpp input signal and an input-referred noise of less than 45 nV/√Hz in worst case.     In this work, a novel local spline smoothing-based approach is proposed in order to despeckling medical ultrasound images. For better comparison, firstly nine conventional statistical spatial filters were applied on the ultrasound images and the results evaluated by quantitative indices of contrast to noise ratio (CNR) and speckle signal to noise ratio (SSNR).     Line nanopatterns are produced on the positive photoresist by scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM). A laser diode with a wavelength of 450 nm and a power of 250 mW as the light source and an aluminum coated nanoprobe with a 70 nm aperture at the tip apex have been employed. A neutral density filter has been used to control the exposure power of the photoresist.     Abstract
    To achieve an exact three-dimensional command to line of sight (CLOS) guidance law, a novel control scheme comprising feed-forward terms (to exactly compensate known kinematics) accompanied by an adaptive nested saturated feedback strategy is presented. A square-root cubature Kalman filter is designed as the CLOS non-linear guidance filter. Performance of the proposed guidance law is compared with the augmented proportional navigation (APN), at the absence and presence of target maneuvers, autopilot dynamics and non-ideal tracking filter.     In this paper, a novel scheme of command to line-of-sight guidance law regarding the outstanding practical limitations is proposed. With the aid of formulating problem in pursuer's line of sight frame, the exact feed-forward acceleration commands are derived for a general target motion in three-dimensional engagement geometry.
