, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ghiassian, Sara (Author) ; Saidi, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Rajabi, Fatemeh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Considering the widespread applications of α-aminonitriles, their synthesis is of great importance. The Strecker reaction represents a direct and appealing approach for the preparation of α-aminonitriles. With the aim of developing a mild and convenient approach towards the construction of α-aminonitriles, numerous methods have been reported for this important process over the past few decades. These have been mostly related to the optimization of reaction conditions and the use of more challenging substrates including ketimines and ketiminium salts and design of novel and effective catalytic systems. Due to the various advantages of supported heterogeneous catalysts and in our aim to...

    Elsevier B.V  2018
    Abstract
A series of g-C3N4-SnO2/TiO2 nanotubes/Ti plates were fabricated via simple dipping of TiO2 nanotubes/Ti in a solution containing SnCl2 and g-C3N4 nanosheets and finally annealing of the plates. Synthesized plates were characterized by various techniques. The SEM analysis revealed that the g-C3N4-SnO2 nanosheets with high physical stability have been successfully deposited onto the surface of TiO2 nanotubes/Ti plate. Photocatalytic activity was investigated using two probe chemical reactions: oxidative decomposition of acetic acid and oxidation of 2-propanol under irradiation. Antibacterial activities for Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria were also investigated in dark and under UV/Vis...

    Abstract
In the present study, the tri-layer nanofibers were synthesized via triaxial electrospinning process to control the sustained delivery of Doxorubicin (DOX), Paclitaxel (PTX) and 5- fluorouracil (5-FU) anticancer drugs from nanofibers. The 5-FU molecules were incorporated into the core solution (chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol (CS/PVA)) to fabricate the CS/PVA/5-FU inner layer of nanofibers. The intermediate layer was prepared from poly(lactic acid)/chitosan (PLA/CS) nanofibers. The DOX and PTX molecules were initially loaded into the g-C3N4 nanosheets and following were incorporated into the PLA/CS solution to fabricate the outer layer of nanofibers. The synthesized nanosheets and nanofibers were...

    Abstract
In directional drilling, the most important thing that leads to pulling out the drill string is end of mud motor working life. Considering the working conditions of down hole mud motors; increasing the mechanical properties of their stator’s elastomer is crucial. Some attempts were done to increase the motor performance through geometrical changes but lack of material improvement is significant in previous studies. In this study, NBR/nanoclay composite samples were prepared through melt intercalation in an internal mixer and tested with regard to the temperature and drilling mud of down hole. Hardness, tear, fatigue and tensile test results of neat NBR elastomer and nanocomposite of NBR and...

    Abstract
Stem cell treatment is promising in the various disorders treatment, but its effect is confined by the adverse conditions in the damaged tissues. The utilization of hydrogels has been suggested as a procedure to defeat this issue by developing the engraftment and survival of injected stem cells. Specifically, injectable hydrogels have drawn much attention due to their shape adaptability, ease of use, and the capability to reach body parts that are hard to access. In this study, the thermosensitive injectable hydrogels based on oxidized alginate, gelatin, and carbon nitride quantum dots (CNQDs) have been fabricated for tissue engineering. The mechanical characteristics of the nanocomposite...

    Abstract
The present study deals with the structure-property relationship of organoclay (OC) filled nanocomposites based on rubber blend comprising of nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) and phenolic resin (PH). To obtain a better insight into the characteristics of the NBR/PH/OC hybrid system, a simple model system consisting of NBR/OC nanocomposites is also taken into consideration. A series of NBR/OC and NBR/PH/OC nanocomposites containing a wide range of OC concentrations (2.5-30 phr) are prepared by using traditional open two-roll mill. Structural analysis performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron microscope (TEM) exhibits mixed exfoliated and...
