    Abstract
In the present research, the influence of nanodiamond (ND) and a physical hybrid of ND and fumed nano-SiO2 were investigated on the performance of a typical tire tread compound. The styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and cis-butadiene rubber (BR) blend filled with a commercial grade highly dispersive silica at 70 phr loading were used as typical tire tread compound. ND was substituted partially with silica at two different concentrations of 5 and 10phr. Meanwhile, 5 phr of ND/nano-SiO2 hybrids with the weight ratio of 2.5/2.5 and 1/4 were substituted with silica. ND-Filled compounds exhibit increased scorch and cure time compared to controls. Improvement in different characteristics of the...

The macro-RAFT agent is prepared by RAFT polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), spirooxazine acryloyl monomer (SOM), and 2-(dodecylthiocarbonothioylthio)-2-methylpropionic acid (DDMAT as a RAFT agent). Finally, the smart nanocomposite is prepared by reaction between the macro-RAFT agent and 2-(Dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) as a monomer. SOM as a...

SiO2 nanoparticles with two different sizes of 15 and 80 nm have been used as a partial cement replacement by 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 wt.% in 16 different proportions of mixture followed by curing in lime solution for 7, 28 and 90 days. The results indicate that in all curing ages in lime solution specimens with 2.0% of 15 nm plus 1.5% of 80 nm cement replacement achieved higher mechanical properties. The continuous cement paste with the lowest delicate zones might be due to the fact of quick...

Annular sector plate is formulated based upon thin shell theory considering geometric nonlinearity and imperfectness. After solving the governing equations via Galerkin’s technique, it is showed that the post-buckling curves of annular sector plates rely on the...

    Abstract
Water shortage issues are growing through the globe at higher rate than population growth. On the bright side, various methods are devised to capture energy from renewable energy or waste heat from different sectors. Among all inspected approaches, waste heat capturing through cooling process of the wind turbines' generators for desalination at small scale is paid less attention. However, in large wind farms, the scale of this dissipated thermal heat becomes appreciable which can drive several desalination units. Due to the above-pointed facts, the waste heat of a wind turbine with nominal capacity of 7358 kW and height of 24 m for desalinating seawater is inspected here, using a...
