, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Azarniya, Abolfazl (Author) ; Madaah Hosseini, Hamid Reza (Supervisor) ; Ramakrishna, Seeram (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, aluminum titanate or tialite with the chemical composition of Al2TiO5 was synthesized as nanostructured form using the sol-gel method with the aim to serve as a chemical source for aluminum and titanium elements within the fabrication of in-situ Al2O3-Al3Ti-reinforced aluminum matrix nanocomposites. Since the aforementioned nanocomposite is produced based on the thermal decomposition of tialite, the thermar decomposition of this material in air atmosphere, under applied mechanical strain, and direct contact with the underlying aluminum was comprehensively evaluated. The empirical results showed that as tialite is exposed to aluminium, the reaction starts from low...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Karami, Soleyman (Author) ; Pourazarang, Kazem (Supervisor) ; Abachi, Parvin (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Production of copper-zirconium amorphous alloys by mechanical alloying and the process of changing crystal structure to amorphous, was examined. The amount of progress of amorphization has been checked by x-ray analysis after different hours of milling. By increasing the percentage of zirconium in this type of alloy, the process of amorphization has been improved. But There is a limiting factor which is due to the tendency of zirconium to produce oxide and nitride phase. Also, the effect of excessive elements on crystal structure changing has been checked. Hence, adding elements like nickel or aluminum has a different effect on the process of amorphization. adding aluminum to the system...

With the optimization of Dolapix CE64 as a dispersant and providing the suspension with 76%wt, a greenware with the density of 56.3% wt was obtained. Differential thermal analysis of green body showed that the existing monomers are removed by the time the body reaches 550°C. In order to access high real in-line transmittance, the microstructure...

At present work TiB2 nano-particles has been selected as reinforcement, due to its valuable properties, i.e., high melting point (2850 - 2900 °C), low linear CTE (8.10 µmm-1 °C-1), thermal conductivity (60.0 - 120 W/m-K) as well as low specific electrical resistivity (10 - 30 μΩ.cm) and high hardness (25-35 GPa HV). Additionally, there are limited articles which have focused on evaluation of...

In these binary nanocomposites, CNTs are added to ceramic matrices to noticeably modify their inferior properties and SPS is employed to produce fully dense compacts. In this review, a broad overview of these systems is provided and the potential...

Fracture toughness of the nanocomposite synthesized at optimum processing conditions was...

XRD results showed mullite and TiB2 as dominant crystalline phases accompanied by tiny peaks of alumina. The microstructure of prepared composites demonstrated uniform distribution of TiB2 reinforcements in mullite matrix without any pores and porosities as a result of near fully densified spark plasma sintered composite. The fracture surface of composite revealed...
