, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Arisian, Babak (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis, a “Game Theory” approach for finding an optimal path in a “Wireless Sensor Network” is discussed. WSN is one of the most interesting research fields in the communication networks, and is the center of attention in recent years. In our model, a pricing and payment technique is presented to obtain an optimal path in a WSN by considering reliability, energy, and traffic load. The proposed algorithm is able to find a path which improves network lifetime and load distribution.

    Abstract
In literature, substantial works have been done on supply chain coordination. The majority of these works looking for a mechanism that enforces the supply chain members to follow strategies that produce the equilibria of an integrated supply chain, and most of this literature ignores competition between supply chains. In this thesis, we consider two distinct supply chains which compete to each other on the price. We present a method to calculate the equilibria for three structural forms. In the first form, two supply chains are integrated and in the second form, one of the supply chains is integrated and the other one is decentralized. Finally in the third form, both supply chains are...

Comparing the Efficiency of Supply Chain Coordinating Contracts in the Presence of Demand Disruption

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Saeedi, Ardavan (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research we investigate the effect of demand disruption on coordinating a supply chain with one manufacturer and one retailer competing with a manufacturer. For this purpose we consider two kinds of demand function: 1) a demand function which determines the demand deterministically and 2) a demand function with a random factor which determines the demand stochastically. Also we assume that in competition between retailer and competing manufacturer, retailer possesses more power than his rival in the market. In order to study the effect of demand disruption on coordinating the supply chain, first we consider coordination without demand disruption by using linear quantity discount and...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Roostaei, Ali (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) have a major role in decreasing the mortality rate and reducing the non-reversible effects of injuries by on time care to patients and transporting them to hospitals if it is needed. Since there is an important goal directly related to the human life, any research or study to improve the performance of EMS is highly recommended. One of the most important parameters in evaluation of EMS is to measure the coverage time of a demand. The locations of EMS play substantial role to decrease the response time. So the locations of EMS stations are very important especially in large and populated cities. Mainly, there are three problems that EMS managers should...

Application of Game Theory in Healthcare:Kidney Donation Problem

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Davarnia, Danial (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, one of the most common and effective methods of medical treatment for End-Stage Renal Disease is kidney transplantation technique which is obtained by transplantation of a living donor kidney to the patient. However, the main issue regarding to this method is the shortage of kidney supply rather than demand. A modern solution for this problem is known as "Paired Kidney Exchange Method". In order to deal with this approach theoretically, the whole problem is modeled as a graph theory problem and a cycle detection algorithms are applied. Furthermore, a new approach considering the time issue and patient state have been introduced recently which implemented the Stochastic Game...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bostanara, Maryam (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Annually Natural disasters make tremendous impacts on societies. Fatality rate of earthquake in Iran is almost more than all other disasters. There are numerous problems in disaster Management's of Iran and other countries. One of the disaster Management's phases is response phase which mostly depends on emergency processes, so most of papers working on this phase, plan for emergency state by using different techniques. All the studies seeking the response phase, try to reduce the loss of disaster by the use of immediate response to earthquake, pointing the disaster after occurrence. But Another point of view is to make loss reduction by precautious activities and plans. Actually, the loss...

Competitive Hub Location for Time Definite Transportation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Farhani, Mahsa (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the recent years, the existing pressure in order to decrease the expenses and increase in giving service level led to the position in which the outsourcing of different sectors of unimportant actions is welcomed by manufacturing companies or the ones offering service. Since the logistic costs are crocial for companies' budget, the conveyance of logistics is a center of attention in recent years. In such a competitive situation, logistic service providers have to provide high quality with low price services, in which both the cost and service offering level to customers depend on the configuration of flow transmission of physical network. The use of hub network has great benefits for such...

Supply Chain Design of a Blood Banking System

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mahmoudi, Sasan (Author) ; Kourosh, Eshghi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This research is focused on inventory management of a blood banking system by assuming deterministic demand and supply with the objective function of minimizing the summation of shortage and wastage. In this research, two integer programming models are developed to solve the problem. In the first model, it is assumed that the blood groups are independent, but in the second one, the transactions between different blood groups are allowed, as it is in reality. Then, to be more efficient and practical, a dynamic heuristic algorithm is developed. In addition, we compared the solution of heuristic algorithm with the exact solutions derived from integer programming models. The data used in this...

Plant Layout Problem by Considering Aisle Structure

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Sahraei, Pardis (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The layout problem is directly related to the material handling system; therefore, these two concepts are always being considered together. The main criterion for evaluating the layout in the objective function, is the cost of controlling and moving the materials. In order to calculate the material handling cost, it is necessary to provide an accurate information on the distance between departments, number of goods transported, and the cost of moving a unit of goods per unit of distance; therefore, accurate calculation of the distance between departments is an issue of paramount importance. In the literature, the distance between the departments is measured in three ways: Euclidean distance,...

    Abstract
Graceful and α-valuation are the first labeling methods which was introduce in the late 1960. α-Vaulation of a graph is a special cases of graceful labeling. Despite of the large number of papers published on this subject, in literature, there are few particular techniques to find labeling of graphs. There are still many open problems on this subject ,some of which are well-known in graph theory. In this research, a new mathematical integer model and two constraint programming models are presented for the graph valuation problem in the case of quadratic graphs. Then, a comparision between their results are discussed. The advantages of this model is linearity, independence from graph...

An Application of Mathematical Programming in Kidney Exchange Problem

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Talei, Alireza (Author) ; Eshghi, Kourosh (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the most efficient techniques deployed for end-stage renal disease remedy is kidney transplantation, but in this case, we commonly encounter with the problem of gap between the demand of patients and supply of donors. In the majority of models has been proposed until now, either kidney exchange technique in a pool of incompatible pairs or kidney allocation system from deceased donors to waiting list is recommended. In this research, in order to enhance kidney transplantation plans, first, a hybrid conceptual model is proposed. Then, its mathematical model is discussed, in which some of the transplantations are selected from kidney allocation system before injecting to the pool of...
