    Abstract
In this study, Fe3O4@Au/metal-organic frameworks (Fe3O4@Au/MOF) nanocomposite with flower-like core-shell structure was successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal route. The as-prepared catalyst was characterized using different techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, TEM, EDX, VSM, TGA, BET, and ICP. This nanocomposite exhibited an excellent catalytic performance in selective oxidation of cyclohexene to 2-cyclohexene-1-one by using molecular oxygen as green oxidant. The influence of reaction conditions including, pressure of molecular oxygen, temperature, time, solvent, and amount of catalyst on conversion and selectivity of products were evaluated. The activation energy (Ea) of the reaction was...

Production of renewable hydrogen through aqueous-phase reforming of glycerol over Ni/Al2O3–MgO nano-catalyst

    , Article International Journal of Hydrogen Energy ; Volume 43, Issue 2 , 2018 , Pages 614-621 ; 03603199 (ISSN) Bastan, F ; Kazemeini, M ; Larimi, A ; Maleki, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2018
    Abstract
In this study, a series of Ni nano-catalysts supported on Al2O3 and MgO were prepared through the co-precipitation technique. Effects of the Al/Mg ratio on physicochemical characteristics of Ni/Al2O3–MgO catalysts were examined. Moreover, catalytic performance was investigated in order to determine the optimum catalyst for H2 production in aqueous phase reforming (APR) of glycerol. It was revealed that, the APR activity of synthesized catalysts strongly depended on the aforementioned ratio. In addition, it was observed that, the catalytic activity of Ni/MgO and Ni/Al2O3 samples were both lower than that of the corresponding mixed oxide supports. Furthermore, it was shown that, amongst the...

Highly efficient one-pot three-component mannich reaction under solvent-free conditions

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 16, Issue 2 C , 2009 , Pages 94-98 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Azizi, N ; Ebrahimi, F ; Saidi, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2009
    Abstract
A mild and practically-convenient one-pot procedure for the direct Mannich reaction has been developed using a condensation of amines, aldehydes and unmodified ketones under solvent free conditions in the presence of Znl 2 with good to excellent yields. The present methodology offers several advantages, such as excellent yields, simple procedures, short reaction times and milder conditions with very small amounts of catalyst. Furthermore, it is the first time that the catalytic activity of several catalysts under solvent free conditions has been studied. It was found that both the diastereoselectivity and the rate of reaction were improved with various Lewis acids and metal oxides. However,...

    Elsevier B.V  2019
    Abstract
In this work, PtxPd1-x (x = 0, 0.5, and 1)nanoparticles (NPs)were synthesized on the surface of SiO2@graphene oxide which covered by 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim]PF6)ionic liquid (IL)layer. FT-IR spectroscopy, zeta potential, CHN elemental analysis, XRD, XPS, SEM, EDX, TEM, TGA, BET, and ICP-AES techniques were applied for the characterization of the multiphasic catalyst. The as-prepared nanocomposite was used as an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the oxidation of cyclohexene by molecular oxygen, as a green oxidant. Different experimental conditions such as oxygen pressure, reaction time, reaction temperature and amount of catalyst were investigated in this...

    Abstract
Hybrid composites of MIL-101(Cr) and Nanoporous Graphene with ratios in the range of 10–50% were prepared via hydrothermal synthesis method. This study deals with an experimental investigation on selective oxidation of H2S into elemental sulfur in the range of 200–270 °C, the catalyst activity and selectivity toward sulfur was studied. High-temperature reactor tests indicated that the MIL-101(Cr)–NPG50–Mo could be a promising candidate with conversion and selectivity of 100% and 99.5% at 200 °C. The MIL-101(Cr)–NPG50–Mo stability showed there were not any significant changes in physical properties, the activity was evaluated after 20 h which was completely stable without any changes

Renewable hydrogen production by aqueous-phase reforming of Glycerol using Ni/Al2O3-MgO nano-catalyst: effect of the Ni loading

, Article Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery ; 2020 Bastan, F ; Kazemeini, M ; Sharif University of Technology
Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH  2020
    Abstract
Aqueous-phase reforming (APR) of oxygenated hydrocarbons for hydrogen production presents several advantages as feed molecules might be easily found in a wide range of biomass; there is no need for its vaporization and the process allows thorough exploitation of the environmental benefits of using hydrogen as an energy carrier. In this contribution, catalysts with active phase Ni supported on Al2O3-MgO were synthesized at different loadings (1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 wt%) through the co-precipitation technique and tested for the Glycerol APR reaction. Effects of the Ni loading on physicochemical characteristics of Ni/Al2O3-MgO catalysts were examined. Moreover, catalytic performance was...

    Abstract
In the current study, the hybrid effect of a corona discharge and γ-alumina supported Ni catalysts in CO 2 reforming of methane is investigated. The study includes both purely catalytic operation in the temperature range of 923-1023 K, and hybrid catalytic-plasma operation of DC corona discharge reactor at room temperature and ambient pressure. The effect of feed flow rate, discharge power and Ni/γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts are studied. When CH 4/CO 2 ratio in the feed is 1/2, the syngas of low H 2/CO ratio at about 0.56 is obtained, which is a potential feedstock for synthesis of liquid hydrocarbons. Although Ni catalyst is only active above 573 K, presence of Ni catalysts in the cold corona plasma...

    Abstract
Synthesis of dimethyl ether (DME) via methanol dehydration were investigated over various catalysts, and via direct CO hydrogenation over hybrid catalysts composed of Al-modified H-Mordenite zeolite and Cu/ZnO/ZrO 2. H-Mordenite zeolite exhibited the highest activity in dehydration of methanol. However, its selectivity toward dimethyl ether was rather low. For this reason, the H-Mordenite was modified. Modification of zeolites was performed by wet impregnation method and considered catalysts were characterized by AAS, XRD and NH3-TPD analyses. Results of catalytic tests indicated that H-Mordenite modified with 8 wt% aluminum oxide was the best catalyst for synthesis of dimethyl ether from...
