    Abstract
    Ni II-(N,N′-bis(2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone)-2, 2-dimethylpropandiimine (Ni II{salnptn(4-OH) 2}) complex has been encapsulated within the supercage of zeolite-NaY by reacting Ni 2+-exchanged NaY with the flexible Schiff-base ligand that diffuses into the cavities. The encapsulated complex is characterized by EDX, scanning electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, and cyclic voltammetry studies.     Abstract
    Electrodes made of group VIII and IB metals were examined for their redox process and electrocatalytic activities towards the oxidation of ethylene glycol in alkaline solutions. The method of cyclic voltammetery (CV) and Open circuit potentials measurement (OCP) was employed. It is found that considerable electrooxidation current are observed for silver and copper but lower anodic overpotential for oxidation is obtained for gold and platinum. Oxide layer produced on the surface of all electrodes in alkaline solution under anodic scan participates in ethylene glycol electrooxidation.     Abstract
    Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was successfully immobilized on amine functionalized TiO 2-coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (NH 2-TiO 2-CNTs) by a convenient and efficient method. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and amperometry were applied to characterize the HRP/NH 2-TiO 2-CNT nano-composite. These techniques showed that the NH 2-TiO 2-CNTs greatly enhance the electron transfer between HRP and the modified electrode.     Multi-walled carbon nanotubes decorated with Fe 3O 4 nanoparticles (Fe 3O 4NPs/MWCNT) were prepared and used to construct a novel biosensor for the simultaneous detection of adenine and guanine. The direct electro-oxidation of adenine and guanine on the modified electrode were investigated by linear sweep voltammetry.     In this report, the fabrication of vertically aligned carbon nanotube nanoelectrode array (VACNT-NEA) by photolithography method is presented. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy as well as cyclic voltammetry was performed to characterize the arrays with respect to different diffusion regimes. The fabricated array illustrated sigmoidal cyclic voltammogram with steady state current dominated by radial diffusion.     Microstructure developments of X80 weld metal by the addition of different amounts of alloying elements such as nickel and manganese to the covering of electrodes were investigated. For this reason, samples were welded with electrodes that Ni value has changed between 0.8 and 3.5% in two critical amounts of Mn 0.7 and 1.6.     Abstract
    Hierarchical submicrometer TiO 2 hollow spheres with outer diameter of 300-700 nm and shell thickness of 200 nm are synthesized by liquid phase deposition of TiO 2 over carbon microspheres as sacrificial templates. The final TiO 2 hollow spheres are applied as a scattering layer on top of a transparent nanocrystalline TiO 2 film, serving as the photoanode of a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC). In addition to efficient light scattering, the mesoporous structure of TiO 2 hollow spheres provides a high surface area, 74 m 2/g, which allows for higher dye loading.     Effect of cathodic enzymatic decolorization of reactive blue 221 (RB221) on the performance of a dual-chamber microbial fuel cell (MFC) was investigated. Immobilized laccase on the surface of a modified graphite electrode was used in the cathode compartment in order to decolorize the azo dye and enhance the oxygen reduction reaction. First, methylene blue which is an electroactive polymer was electropolymerized on the surface of a graphite bar to prepare the modified electrode.     The electrochemical behavior of lamotrigine (LMT) at the pyrolytic graphite electrode (PGE) is investigated in detail by the means of cyclic voltammetry. During the electrochemical reduction of LMT, an irreversible cathodic peak appeared. Cyclic voltammetric studies indicated that the reduction process has an irreversible and adsorption-like behavior. The observed reduction peak is attributed to a two-electron process referring to the reduction of azo group.     A mixture of multi-walled carbon nanotube/graphite paste electrode modified with a salophen complex of cobalt was prepared and was applied for the study of the electrochemical behavior of 6-mercaptopurine (MP) using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV).     The electrochemical behavior of antioxidants daidzein (DZ) and 7-hydroxy-4-chromone (7-OH-4-CHM) was investigated. The oxidation of DZ is irreversible, pH-dependent, and occurs in two steps, the first of 4′-OH on the B-ring and the second on the 7-OH on the A-ring. The oxidation of 7-OH-4-CHM occurs on the 7-OH on the A-ring, is irreversible, pH-dependent and proceeds in a single step. The DZ diffusion coefficient was calculated in pH7.0 phosphate buffer to be D DZ=8.1×10 -5cm 2s -1. The detection limits of DZ and 7-OH-4-CHM was calculated as LOD DZ=0.08μM and LOD 7-OH-4-CHM=0.13μM

    L-Ascorbate anion electro-oxidation on a silver electrode in hydroxide solution in the absence and presence of sodium polysulfide of concentrations from 1 × 10 -5 to 4.5 × 10 -4 mol/L was studied using cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Both hydroxide and polysulfide ions inhibited L-ascorbate ion oxidation, with the poisoning effect of polysulfide ion being more pronounced in the potential range of -0.3 to -0.2 V/SCE. The time constants for L-ascorbate ion oxidation in the absence and presence of polysulfide were, 10 -3 to 1 × 10 -2 s and 1 × 10 -4 to 1 × 10 -2 s, respectively depending on the potential used for the impedance analysis.     A composite film constructed of surfactant doped over-oxidized polypyrrole and multi-walled carbon nanotube was prepared on the surface of glassy carbon electrode by the electro-polymerization method.
