    Copper immobilized onto polymer-coated magnetic nanoparticles as recoverable catalyst for ‘click’ reaction

    Abstract
    Copper supported on polymer-coated magnetic nanoparticles was designed and synthesized as a separable heterogeneous catalyst. The catalyst was fully characterized using several techniques such as Fourier transform infrared and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopies, scanning and transmission electron microscopies, X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometry, thermogravimetric analysis and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. All results showed that copper was successfully supported on the polymer-coated magnetic nanoparticles.     Abstract
    The adhesion of hydroxyapatite (HA) as a coating for the AZ91 magnesium alloy substrate can be improved by using the sputtering method and an intermediate layer, such as ZrN. In this study, HA coatings were applied on ZrN intermediate layers at a temperature of 300 °C for 180, 240, 300, 360, and 420 min by ion beam sputtering. A profilometer device was used to study the HA coating thickness, which changed from 2 μm for the 180-min deposition to 4.7 μm for 420-min deposition. The grazing incidence X-ray diffraction analysis method and the Williamson–Hall analysis were used for structural investigation. The polymer network consisted of a homogeneous polystyrene–sol gel hybrid constructed by in–situ radical polymerization method.     The present research aims at depositing molybdenum on stainless steel substrate using dense plasma focus (DPF) device. The varying parameter was the angular position of substrate surface from the anode tip. The deposited layers were characterized using various analyses such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and microhardness measurements.     In this work, we synthesized carbon hollow spheres (CHSs) using the silica templating method, encapsulated 2-mercaptobenzimidazole (MBI) inhibitor in the CHSs and evaluated their corrosion inhibition performance upon exposure of mild steel to a saline solution containing the released inhibitor.     This article reports the synthesis of a magnetic heterogeneous catalyst through the decoration of gold ions onto the cross-linked polymeric nanocomposite from 2,6-diaminopyridine. The activity of the resulting catalyst was then evaluated in the bromination of aromatic compounds.     The MgO-supported Fe-Co-Mn catalysts, prepared using co-precipitation procedure, were tested for production of light olefins via CO hydrogenation reaction. The effect of a range of drying conditions including drying temperature and drying time on the structure and catalytic performance of Fe-Co-Mn/MgO catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis was investigated in a fixed bed micro-reactor under the same operational conditions of T = 350 °C, P = 1 bar, H2/CO = 2/1, and GHSV = 4500 h-1.     Composite coatings of Hydroxyapatite (HA) with ceramics, polymers and metals are used to modify the surface structure of implants. In this research, HA/TiO2 composite coating was fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) on 316 stainless steel substrate.     Iron‑vanadium oxysulfide (Fe-VO-S) nanostructures with different Fe:VO atomic ratios are synthesized by a facile and low cost electrochemical deposition method. The synthesis of the various samples is confirmed by the physicochemical characterizations such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
