    Abstract
    The unbundling of the electricity industry introduced new uncertainties and escalated the existing ones in transmission expansion planning. In this paper, a multi-stage transmission expansion methodology is presented using a multi-objective optimization framework with internal scenario analysis. Total social cost (TSC), maximum regret (robustness criterion), and maximum adjustment cost (flexibility criterion) are considered as three optimization objectives. Uncertainties are considered by defining a number of scenarios.     In this article, 3D modeling and simulation of bubbling fluidized beds has been conducted using various drag models, and the model predictions were validated against reported experimental data and 2D simulation results. In this regard, different drag models reported in the literature including Gidaspow, Syamlal-O'Brien, Hill-Koch-Ladd, and Wen-Yu were applied. A standard Two-Fluid Model (TFM) closed by the Kinetic Theory of Granular Flows (KTGF) was used to simulate bubbling gas-solid fluidized beds.     This paper investigates a new method of dissipating energy in which a rigid tube is driven into the deformable tube under axial compression. Since there is a specific clearance between the rigid and deformable tubes, the deformable tube is expanded during axial compression, and the impact energy is absorbed by plastic expansion of deformable tube and frictional energy between deformable and rigid tubes. Quasi-static axial compression tests with different values of friction coefficient between rigid and deformable tubes are performed.
