    Introduction of large amounts of new wind generation can affect the small signal stability of power systems with three mechanisms: displacing synchronous generators (SGs); reducing SGs power generation; and the dynamics of wind farms (WFs) interacting with the electromechanical mode of SGs. In this paper a novel approach is developed to investigate the impact of the latter mechanism on existing power systems oscillations. In this approach, the dynamic behavior of grid connected WFs is studied independent of the dynamic behavior of system SGs.     Abstract
    In this paper, the participation of wind farms in load frequency control (LFC) is studied. A previously proposed macromodel for the wind farm is employed to regulate its output power. The wind farm including its proposed control strategy is incorporated into the conventional LFC model. The proposed LFC structure is able to dynamically maintain the system frequency at the nominal value against the power imbalances. To achieve proper transient response, the integral control parameter of the LFC controller is optimized using the genetic algorithm (GA).     Under smart grid environment, islanding detection plays an important role in reliable operation of distributed generation (DG) units. In this paper an intelligent-based islanding detection algorithm for PV and DFIG units is proposed. Decision tree algorithm is used to classify islanding detection instances.     Abstract
    In this paper a self-oscillating mixer is presented fundamental signal generated by the oscillator subcircuit in the mixing process. The oscillator core consumes 3mA of current from a 1.8 V DC supply and results in an output power of -0.867 dBm per oscillator, and a measured phase noise of -91, -102 and -108 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz, 600 KHz and 1 MHz from the carrier, respectively. In the mixing process the proposed mixer achieved IIP3 of 0 dBm with conversation gain of 1.93 dB. The circuit was designed and simulated in 0.18-μm CMOS technology by ADS2010

    In this paper, a reliable low power single phase grid-connected inverter for photovoltaic modules is proposed. The inverter has improved lifetime since large electrolytic capacitor is replaced with small film capacitor due to circuit topology, power processing and proper control scheme. Thus the main limiting component in single phase grid connected inverters is obviated. The proposed inverter consists of two power processing stages. First a dual active bridge (DAB) converter boosts the voltage of PV panel to approximately 440 V and eliminates impact of high dc bus voltage ripples.     LLC resonant converter is one of the most suitable circuit topologies that have been introduced for designing constant output voltage switched-mode power supplies.     In this paper a novel approach based on the emotional learning is proposed for improving the load-frequency control (LFC) system of a two-area interconnected power system with the consideration of generation rate constraint (GRC).
