    Abstract
    An effective iterative method is proposed for three-dimensional large-displacement analysis of structures consisting of slack cables as the primary load-bearing system. This approach takes advantage of substructuring technique that is specially tailored to address the analysis and form-finding problem of slack cables subjected to arbitrary loads, and to reduce the overall analysis costs. At the overall structural level, a robust procedure is employed for detecting the instabilities and limiting the corresponding incremental displacements.     The analytical formulation of the fully coupled and the uncoupled rolling contact mechanics problems for all possible stick/slip regimes are derived in Part I (Alinia et al., 2013). In this part, we focus on the numerical algorithm, the iteration procedure and the numerical results. The coupled and the uncoupled solutions corresponding to each of the assumed stick/slip regimes are provided. The uncoupled solution provides an acceptable approximation to the problem for small coefficient of friction values.     In the present work, the multiscale finite volume (MsFV) method is implemented on a new coarse grids arrangement. Like grids used in the MsFV methods, the new grid arrangement consists of both coarse and dual coarse grids but here each coarse block in the MsFV method is a dual coarse block and vice versa. Due to using the altered coarse grids, implementation, computational cost, and the reconstruction step differ from the original version of MsFV method.     Movements of the wheel loads and their sequential entry onto the bridges are known as the two root causes for the vibrations of the railway bridges. It is possible to reduce the levels of the unwanted bridge deck oscillations by introducing one or more size adjusted wagon(s) in the train configuration. The added wagon(s) are of different size(s) compared with the other cars in the train configuration. This can disturb the periodicity in the wheel loading.     Cross-docking is a new logistic technique that brings considerable benefits such as low inventory level, customer satisfaction, etc. To achieve these benefits, coordination between transportation facilities is quite important. This paper studies both inbound and outbound scheduling problem and assignment of products from inbound truck to outbound trucks in a cross-docking warehouse including multiple receiving and shipping dock doors.     In this paper an efficient filtering procedure based on Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) has been proposed. The method is based on a modified nonlinear dynamic model, previously introduced for the generation of synthetic ECG signals. The proposed method considers the angular velocity of ECG signal, as one of the states of an EKF. We have considered two cases for observation equations, in one case we have assumed a corresponding observation to angular velocity state and in the other case, we have not assumed any observations for it.     It is proved that the endothelial (artery inner lumen cells) function is associated with cardiovascular risk factors. Among all the common non-invasive methods employed in the research setting for assessing endothelial function, flow-mediated dilation is the most widely used one. This technique measures endothelial function by inducing reactive hyperemia using temporary arterial occlusion and measuring the resultant relative increase in blood vessel diameter via ultrasound.     Abstract
    This paper presents the stability analysis for a single-phase phase-locked loop (PLL) for power systems applications. The dynamical equations of a previously presented single-phase PLL are systematically derived and linearized for design and stability analysis purposes. Based on the linearized model of the PLL, parameters of the loop filter and the PI controller are accurately determined. The main advantages of the PI controller are discussed as well as its design procedure. Moreover, it is shown that, unlike the conventional single-phase PLLs, the mentioned PLL does not suffer from double-frequency ripples.     A new micro-solid phase extraction method was developed by combining solid-phase extraction and stir bar sorptive extraction to benefit from the advantages of both techniques. A polypyrrole coating was electrochemically synthesized on the surface of an already used graphite furnace, employed in electro-thermal atomic absorption spectroscopy. The cylindrical geometry of the graphite tube provided a rather huge surface area, suitable for sorptive extraction.     Calculating leakage inductances between windings of multi-winding Traction transformers is one of the most important schemes in design procedure. In this paper, analytical and finite element methods (FEM) have been introduced for electromagnetic modeling of traction transformers with four pancake split windings. Using these models, the leakage inductances between the split windings are calculated and the models have been validated with the help of experimental data gathered from a typical 4000kVA cast-resin dry-type transformer. It is analytically shown that any set of bounded external disturbances can be damped by the proposed method, where synchronization error will be forced and then kept inside a ball around the origin.     This work discusses several extraction procedures for the recently proposed dual input-dual output (DIDO) low pass equivalent behavioral model according to their required excitation signals. These methods are based on passive load pulling and uncontrolled open loop active load pulling but with different type of excitation waveforms. It also addresses the hardware and signal conditioning of the proposed extraction procedures in detail. The performance of the discussed methods are compared based on the datasets extracted from simulation results in ADS.     This paper reports the estimation of angular velocity in micro gyroscopes with parametric excitation. The identification procedure is done into two consecutive steps: In the first step, the physical parameters of the gyroscope (stiffness, damping, and actuator parameters) are estimated via continuous time Extended and Unscented Kalman filter.
