    An experimental study on permeability, diffusivity, and selectivity of CO2 and CH4 through [bmim][PF6] ionic liquid supported on an alumina membrane: Investigation of temperature fluctuations effects

    Abstract
    In order to define a new temperature correction factor in this study, accurate experimental values were presented for permeability and diffusivity of carbon dioxide and methane in imidazolium-based room temperature ionic liquid: [bmim][PF6] (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate) immobilized on an inorganic membrane support. Results were presented as a function of temperature and pressure for temperatures within 300-320K and pressures below 50kPa. According to the literature, experimental values of permeability and diffusivity for CH4 in [bmim][PF6] vs. temperature are reported for the first time in this study.     Abstract
    In this paper, dynamic ageing characteristics associated with the application of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) to Al6061 alloy at elevated temperatures was investigated. Followed by ECAP, Vickers microhardness measurement on the cross-sectional planes and microstructural observations were undertaken using transmission electron microscopy. The combination of the ECAP process with dynamic ageing at both 100°C and 150°C resulted in a significant increase in hardness. The grain size was measured as ∼160. nm after four passes.     Abstract
    We prepared Cu nanoparticles in a-C:H thin films by co-deposition of RF-sputtering and RF-PECVD methods at room temperature. By increasing Cu content in these films a nonmetalmetal (NM) transition is observed. This transition is explainable by the power law of percolation theory. The critical metal content is obtained 56% and the critical exponent is obtained 1.6, which is larger than the exponent for 2 dimension systems and smaller than the one for 3 dimension systems.     Abstract
    Equal channel angular pressing is an outstanding method for imposing large plastic deformation to metallic materials without any decreasing in cross section area of as processed samples. In this paper, the effect of working temperature, ram speed and the number of passes on the formation of adiabatic shear bands in Al6061 during equal channel angular pressing was investigated. Billets of the alloy were processed up to four passes via route BC from room temperature to 200°C with two ram speeds using a die that imparts an effective strain of ∼1.1 per pass.     Abstract
    We present gas sensing property of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) composite as the active element for acetone vapour detection at room temperature. The polymeric films were formed by spin coating method on SiO2 substrates. Then they were activated by dropping the CNTs suspension in acetone on the PMMA films. The CNT/PMMA films were characterised by SEM, TEM and Raman spectroscopy. Variation of film's electrical resistance after exposure polar and non-polar gases is utilised as the principle of gas sensing.     Abstract
    In this study, effect of rolling speed on strain aging phenomena in warm rolling of a carbon steel has been investigated. For this purpose, by using a mathematical model and predicting temperature and strain rate fields, the possibility of occurrence of dynamic strain aging during the warm rolling was first evaluated. In the next stage, warm-rolled samples were aged up to 11 months at room temperature for studying the kinetics of static strain aging, while mechanical tests as well as microstructural evolutions have been performed to determine the effect of strain aging on material behavior.     Abstract
    Dual-phase (DP) steels with different martensite contents were produced by subjecting a low carbon steel to various heat treatment cycles. In order to investigate the effect of dynamic strain aging (DSA) on mechanical properties, tensile specimens were deformed 3% at 300 °C. Room temperature tensile tests of specimens which deformed at 300 °C showed that both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased, while total elongation decreased. The fatigue limit increased after pre-strain in the DSA temperature range. The effects of martensite volume fraction on mechanical properties were discussed

    Through a fast, simple, low cost, surfactant-free and convenient microwave-assisted route, narcis-like ZnO nanostructures (10-15 nm size) with flower diameters in the range of 1-2.5 μm were synthesized. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and room temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurements were used to characterize the produced ZnO nanostructures.     Utilizing the so-called tube spinning, a cold-bonding process entitled as "spin-bonding" is developed to produce seamless thin-walled clad tubes and cylinders. By this method, two layers of AA 1050 tubes were successfully bonded together to form a clad tube at room temperature.     Abstract
    4340 steel bars were austenitized at 850°C for 1 hour followed by heating at 700°C (ferrite and austenite region) for 90 min and quenching into a salt bath with different temperatures of 300, 350, 400 and 450°C. The steel bars were held for 1 hour at these temperatures before air cooling to room temperature. Various ferrite-bainite microstructures with 34% volume fraction of ferrite and different bainite morphologies were obtained.     Abstract
    In this study by using a capacitive cell probe the temperature variation of the electrical properties of the water liquids is investigated. Variation of the reactance capacitance parameter of liquids with temperature in the range of 17-60°C is measured for the plain water and water mixtures. The temperature variations of the capacitance for the cool distilled and tap water samples are studied for the range of 17-29°C obtained. Present results indicate an averaged variation of 4.69 μF/°C for the distilled water and 3.24 μF/°C for tap water in warm up process to a near room temperature.     At room temperature, SO 2- 4/nano-TiO 2 efficiently catalyze the direct Mannich-type reaction of varieties of in situ-generated aldimines using aldehydes and anilines with ketones in a three-component reaction under solvent-free conditions. The reaction proceeds rapidly and affords the correspondingβ-amino ketones in good to high yields with good to excellent stereoselectivity.     Na0.3WO3 1D nanostructure forms (nanorods and nanobelts) were grown by a solid-liquid-solid mechanism from a 40 nm sputtered tungsten film deposited on a soda-lime substrate and annealed at 700 °C in a tubular furnace in N2 ambient. The morphology, structure, composition and chemical state of the prepared nanostructures were characterized by SEM, XRD, TEM, SAED and XPS measurements.     Different microstructures were produced by heat treatment of 4340 steel. These microstructures are bainite, martensite, ferrite-martensite and ferrite-bainite. Mechanical tests were carried out at room temperature. The results showed that steel with bainite-ferrite microstructure has better ductility and charpy impact energy than steels with martensite-ferrite and full bainite microstructures.     Synchronous heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation of cyclohexene and acetone, catalyzed by Pt/Al2O3, was carried out in solutions of 2-hydroxy ethylammonium formate (a room temperature ionic liquid, RTIL) with ethanol and propan-1-ol at 25 °C. Rate constants and selectivity of the reaction (relative to cyclohexene hydrogenation) increase with mole fraction of the ionic liquid (IL).     In this work we report a new thermochemical method for the synthesis of ZnS:Mn nanocrystals. Zn(NO3)2 and Na2S 2O3 were used as the precursors and Mn(NO 3)2 was the source of impurity. Thioglycerol (TG,C 3H8O2S) was also used as the capping agent and the catalyst of the reaction. Na2S2O3 is a heat sensitive material which releases S species upon heating.
