    LPRE: Lost speech packet recovery withenhancement

    Abstract
    In the internet telephony, loss of IP packets causes instantaneous discontinuities in the received speech. In this paper, we have focused on finding an error resilient method for this problem. Our proposed method creates artificial correlation between speech samples that pre-distorts the speech signal. The receiver uses this correlation to reconstruct the lost speech packets. An appropriate speech enhancement technique is designed for the reduction of the processing error in the recovered speech caused by the speech codecs. The SegSNR results show the superiority of our proposed speech enhancement method over a recently proposed one. © 2007 IEEE

    Abstract
    In this paper, we will analyze a decentralized transmission power level selection algorithm in conjunction with Binary Exponential Back-off retransmission scheme, in large slotted-Aloha networks under saturation condition. In this algorithm, the transmission power is steadily increased by an amount called power step, until the packet is successfully transmitted. We will use SIR-based capture model to study the performance of this algorithm with small and large power steps. Our analysis proves that, although small power steps may seem favorable for power saving purposes, these power steps face throughput collapse under high load conditions (large number of nodes), while properly chosen large...

    A high speed, high resolution switched-current sample and hold (SI S/H) based on a new class AB transconductance stage is presented.     Abstract
    This paper presents a new adaptive lifting scheme transform for detecting user-selected objects in a sequence of images. In our algorithm, we first select a set of object features in the wavelet transform domain and then build an adaptive transform by using the selected features. The adaptive transform is constructed based on adaptive prediction in a lifting scheme procedure. Adaptive prediction is performed such that, the large coefficients in the high-pass component of the non-adaptive transform vanishes in the high-pass component of the adaptive transform.     In this paper, we will address the issue of power distribution and decoding order in the uplink side of a multirate code division multiple access (CDMA) system based on linear successive interference cancellation (SIC). First, the closed form expressions for the required received powers at the base station, in order to achieve the users bit rate and Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, will be derived. Then, we will investigate the problem of optimal decoding order of the users under imperfect interference cancellation condition and will show that optimum decoding order of users, unlike the case of perfect SIC, is a function of their requested SINR values in addition to their path gains....

    Abstract
    The paper introduced a new design for two-frequency MTI radar is introduced. The suggested system can change its frequencies, in each pulse. Therefore, the system is very resistive to electronic war. The analytical results of our calculation show that the system has very high blind speed and in realistic situations, it increases signal to noise ratio, although it widens clutter bandwidth and detects some spurious targets

    Abstract
    An area and power-efficient second order sigma-delta modulator is presented. At system level, we propose a new single-loop single-stage modulator that uses only one class-AB op-amp to realize a second order noise shaping for speech band applications. The modulator shows 86 dB DR in 4 kHz speech bandwidth. It consumes 125 μw from a 2.5 V supply

    Abstract
    This paper presents a new single-loop single-stage second order sigma-delta modulator. The circuit based on switched capacitor components just uses one Op-Amp to realize second order noise shaping. The modulator demonstrated 85 dB DR in 8kHz bandwidth, dissipating 135 μW from a 2.5 V supply. © 2002 IEEE

    A novel super-resolution volumetric photoacoustic microscopy, based on the theory of structured-illumination, is proposed in this paper. The structured-illumination will be introduced in order to surpass the diffraction limit in a photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) structure. Through optical excitation of the targeted object with a sinusoidal spatial fringe pattern, the object's frequency spectrum is forced to shift in the spatial frequency domain. The shifting in the desired direction leads to the passage of the high-frequency contents of the object through the passband of the acoustic diffraction frequency response.     In this work, we study the performance of polar codes for lossy compression of a Gaussian source with a side information at decoder; known as the quadratic-Gaussian Wyner-Ziv problem. First we extend the binary polar codes to q-ary for the Wyner-Ziv problem. We show that the nested q- Ary polar codes are optimal for this case. Then we present two polar coding schemes for the Gaussian Wyner-Ziv problem. In the first scheme, we achieve a rate above the Wyner-Ziv rate-distortion function with a gap of 0.5 bits compared with the optimal rate.     In this paper, we investigate the error probability, diversity analysis and outage capacity of a general multiple-antenna equal-gain receive combining (EGC) scheme with an arbitrary number of antennas at high signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio. As will be shown, the proposed approach which is based on Taylor expansion provides a powerful tool for analysis of EGC schemes in terms of diversity and outage capacity.     Radiofrequency coils provide high-resolution magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of human tissues. A small RF coil produces MR images with a higher resolution compared to the commercial volume MR coils from mass limited samples. Signal to noise ratio (SNR) plays a key role in the optimal design of receiver radiofrequency coils.
