    In this paper, a hierarchical predictive controller is designed in order to solve the tracking problem of a moving ground target by a quad-rotor in an unknown and uneven environment. This controller has internal and external predictive controller levels.     Abstract
    Bistatic passive radars have many advantages over the monostatic ones because they are undetectable and silent. In passive coherent location, the original source of energy is derived from a waveform of opportunity in the environment and the re-radiated energy from the target is processed to decide about the existence of the target. More over bistatic radars receive forward scatters from target in place of the backscatters in monostatics systems. As a result of the larger forward scattered RCS, the stealth targets can be detected easier. Passive radar does not need any frequency allocation so are very attractive for surveillance.     Abstract
    In a typical surveillance radar, decision about the existence of a target in certain range-azimuth-elevation cell is made from the echo received in current scan, while still there is useful information in history of that range cell that is not considered in decision making. Based on the potential of the Hough Transform to use history of both range and Doppler information, a new method to increase the probability of detection in surveillance radars is proposed. The new method uses a 3D data space and a special projection to detect targets and extract range, speed, and acceleration of maneuvering targets simultaneously

    Radar Target Detection Using Hough Transform

    Abstract
    The usage of the Hough transform, which has been proposed to detect straight lines in digital images, is studied as a target detector in search radars and its performance is compared with the conventional detectors. Then, a new method based on the Hough transform is introduced for detecting targets in a 3-D r-φ-t data space. The effectiveness of the new 3-D Hough detector is demonstrated through deriving the detection statistics analytically and comparing the results with those of several comprehensive simulations.     The high resolution range profile (HRRP) is known as the most important tool in radar target recognition. Mainly, the sensitivity to the aspect angle limits the performance of the related methods. To overcome this problem, Gaussian mixture distribution is used to model the short-term relation of consecutive HRRPs. In this work, an alternative dynamical system based method is proposed to overcome the limitations of recent methods in the field such as the independency assumption.     Signal processing in noise radar is always done by calculating the cross-correlation between transmitted and received signals. Strong echoes of near targets present relatively high sidelobes in the correlation output, so they can conceal weak echoes of weak targets (masking effect). Many classical and modern methods for alleviating this effect have been offered, however, most of them are based on signal processing in the receiver side.     Abstract
    One of the origins of error in the angle of arrival estimation of a signal is the response of the ground to the reflected waves from the target. In low-height target situations, this phenomenon can be so harrowing that it may result in much more error than thermal noise. In this article, two methods of fixed beam and double null are used as preliminary techniques to overcome the problem of low-altitude target angle estimation, and the optimum weights for beam-forming array radar are proposed.     Abstract
    At the present research, a new analytical model is developed for the impact of a deformable blunt projectile to metallic targets using the plastic stress wave propagation theory and the momentum equations. At this model, the deformation of the projectile is considered, too. Also, the effects of dishing and plugging phenomena on failure of the target are investigated. All of the obtained results are compared with the experimental and other available analytical results where good agreement has been observed.     The relative velocity between ground surface and receiver platform leads to clutter expansion in the range-doppler surface. The expanded clutters can mask slow moving targets. The passive radar is a low cost and light weight radar with high detection ability, due to its multistatic geometry. In this paper, we employ the MISO passive radar with at least four transmitters of opportunity to constitute an over-determined system of equations. We propose an algorithm to localize moving targets in the presence of clutters.     Abstract
    In this paper, we present a new method for height finding in 2-D (Range-Azimuth) search Radars. The idea is based on the fact that the rate at which Doppler frequency of a target changes as target moves away from or toward the radar, depends on the height of the target for fixed target range and velocity. Radon transform is used to find the rate of the Doppler frequency changes using Doppler history of the target over several scans. Analysis for calculation of target height from its range, Doppler frequency, the rate of Doppler changes and radar operating frequency is given in detail.     A robust method for ultra-wideband (UWB) imaging of buried shallow objects based on time gating, Wiener filtering, as well as constant false alarm rate (CFAR) is proposed. Moreover, it is demonstrated that Wiener filtering can be used as a clutter removal tool in UWB signal applications. Basically, the problem with time gating method is that the length of the timing window for unknown targets cannot be determined accurately in advance. In fact, it is a blind methodology and some targets can be missed due to a lack of pre-knowledge about their depth.     This paper investigates the problem of maneuvering target tracking by using hybrid (intelligent/classical) methods. The adaptive capability of filters is known to be increased by incorporating a neural network into the filtering procedure.     Modern pipelined processors use a memory array named Branch Target Buffer (BTB) to reduce the performance penalty due to conditional braches by predicting path of the branch and keeping useful history-based information for future accesses. Today BTB is a fixed size and small memory array located near the processor. By the way, BTB, in the best case, should be large enough to accommodate all conditional branches throughout the running program. Moreover, small size BTB presents much fast access and is practical on-chip storage for a system with limited power budget.
