, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Mardani, Mohammad (Author) ; Mobed, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Mohammadi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The problem of launching a satellite to low earth orbit has been considered. Preliminary concepts such as satellite orbits, launcher missiles and their equations of motion, and traditional methods for guidance of launchers are reviewed first. Then a new method for optimizing the launch trajectory under non-ideal conditions is introduced in which the solution of a known ideal trajectory optimization problem is used as an initial guess for the actual optimization problem. Several methods for guiding a launcher to place a satellite in Earth orbit are presented next; they have been titled as (1) launch path re-computation outside the atmosphere, (2) prediction error minimization, and (3) output...

Fabrication of DEP-inertial Microfluidic Device for Focusing and Separation of Particles/Cells

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rezaei, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Mohammadi, Ali Asghar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Separation of particles and cells is one of the most important and practical methods in fields such as biomedicine, medicine and industry. In microfluidics There are various methods for particles and cells separation According to the source of them, they can be categorised as active and passive techniques. Active techniques rely on an external force field. The most important advantage of this method is controlling the force on the particles during the experiment. However, the flow speed is always limited because particles must be exposed to the outer force field for sufficient duration to achieve effective functionality. passive techniques depend entirely on the channel geometry or intrinsic...

Performance Enhancement of Named Data Networks in order to Support Nodes Mobility

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadi, Bahram (Author) ; Hemmatyar, Ali Mohammad Afshin (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Issues arising from host-centric nature of IP-based networks lead to emerging Informationcentric networks (ICN). One the most promising architectures of ICN is named data networking (NDN). Unlike IP-based networks, the foundation of NDN is the content not the location which it resides. Voluminous growth of mobile devices necessitates supporting mobility in NDN. Although consumer mobility is supported natively by NDN, the support of producer mobility is yet an open challenge in NDN design. Since producer mobility affects both network performance and end-users satisfaction, it is crucial to handle this problem. The solution is proposed in this paper is based on virtual coordinate-based...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Etemadi Dailami, Mohammad Hossein (Author) ; Mohammadi, Ali Asghar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
For designing a unit operation, knowledge about physical properties is essential. This is attained either by direct measurement, which needs spending time and cost or, using proposed correlations. This project is subjected to theoretical analysis of viscosity as the most important rheological property of dilute suspensions of microgels, or in other words colloidal suspensions of porous spheres. They are applied in drug delivery, enhanced oil recovery, synthesis of catalyst and adsorption of heavy metal ions from aqueous systems for water purification purposes. In dilute suspensions particles are faraway from each other and there is no interaction between them therefore, it is better to...

Numerical Investigation of Motion of Nanodroplets on Wetting Gradient Surfaces

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadi, Ahmad (Author) ; Moosavi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A droplet placed on the boundary of two solids with different wettabilities will move to the more wettable part. This is a well-known phenomenon and has been extensively used in a variety of processes and applications ranging from biological systems and ink jet printing to the commercial lab-on-a-chip. Because of its importance, many studies are conducted around this phenomenon. The difference between the equilibrium contact angles of the droplet on the two parts gives rise to an interfacial driving force which moves the droplet. Such a motion is not continuous as the droplet slides to the more wettable area, the driving force diminishes and consequently the droplet stops. A non-stop motion...

Analysis of Reliability of High Power Amplifier
