Investigation of Production Increasing in In-situ Preparation of Polyolefin/clay Nanocomposites
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ramazani Saadat Abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor)
Abstract
This project is devoted to experimental investigation of increasing on production of polyethylene/clay nanocomposites (PECNs) and polypropylene/clay nanocomposites (PPCNs) via in-situ polymerization method. First of all we produced bi-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst to polymerized polyolefins nanocomposites. Bentonite type clay and Magnesiumethoxide (Mg (OEt)2) were used as the support of Tetrachloridetitanium (TiCl4). Catalyst support and polymerization process have been done in slurry phase using Triisobutylaluminum (TiBA) as the co-catalyst. The efficiency of preapared bi-supported Ziegler-Natta was reasonably high (average 200 (gr. Product/mmol Ti. h) for PECNs and 195 (gr. Product/mmol...
Preparation and Investigation of Behavior of PLA/TPS Nanocomposite
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ramazani Saadat Abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor)
Abstract
With the environmental concerns and scarce supply of the crude oil, a revival in the development of bio-based and compostable materials is coming. They are in general being called the ''green'' materials, among which poly(lactic acid) (PLA) got the most extensive attention due to its good combined properties, including the renewable feedstock, the compostability, and its good mechanical properties, especially the young's modulus and stiffness. PLA has found numerous applications. It is considered having the highest potential to replace some regular petroleum based plastics. However PLA has its own shortcomings, its brittleness, low heat distortion temperature and relatively high cost witch...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ramazani Saadat Abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor) ; Soltanieh, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
Flexible thermoelectric (TE) fabrics were prepared by dip coating of a mixture solution of water base colloidal geraphen nano sheet(GNS) and carbon nano tube(CNT) and polyaniline (PANI) on polyester fabric. The phase composition and morphology of the TE fabrics were investigated by FTIR-ATR diffraction and feld emission scanning electron microscopy. The TE properties of the PANI/GNS or CNT coated fabrics with different GNS and CNT loadings were measured in the temperature range from 303 to 338 K. As the content of GNS increased from 0.5 to 10 wt% and CNT increased from 0.5 to 20 wt%, the electrical conductivity of the PANI/GNS or CNT coated polyester fabrics increased, while the Seebeck...
Investigation of Rheological Behavior of Polymer on EOR in Carbonate Reservoir
, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Ramazani Saadat Abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor) ; Emadi, Mohammad Ali (Supervisor)
Abstract
The major objectives of this study are to analytically and experimentally investigate the rheological behavior of polymers in the fractured carbonate medium based on the polymer solution properties and operational conditions. The intrinsic and apparent viscosity of high molecular weight-partially hydrolyzed poly (acrylamide) which is mainly used in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes hasbeen investigated in reservoir conditions. Since, the EOR efficiency of hydrolyzed poly (acrylamide) is very sensitive to the temperature and salinity of petroleumreservoirs; investigations have been carried out at different possible reservoirtemperatures using high saline polymer solutions. The parameters...

Fabrication and Evaluation of Mechanical and Anti-corrosion Properties of Epoxy Resin/Carbon Nanofibers Containing Organic Corrosion Inhibitors
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ramazani Saadat Abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor) ; Mahdavian Ahadi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
To protect mild steel against corrosion, an intelligent self-healing epoxy (EP) coating including carbon nanofiber (CNF) modified with polydopamine (PDA)-La (III) complex was successfully fabricated. The high aspect ratio and unique thermal and electrical characteristics of CNF made it an ideal physical barrier against the penetration of corrosive ions. Due to the poor dispersion of CNF, its surface was modified using PDA. PDA, which contains functional groups such as catechol, amine, and imine, can mitigate corrosion reaction by generating the Fe-Catechol complex and also boost the coating's adherence to the metal surface, in addition to anchoring La3+ inorganic corrosion inhibitor....

Abstract
Chemical industries need to employ new process designs due to environmental policies and energy optimization because of the global energy challenge. Pervaporation has been introduced as a promising alternative for conventional processes such as distillation, known as energy intensive process, in chemical plants. In this work, the energy consumption of different processes for separation of toluene and i-octane (representatives of aromatics and aliphatic mixtures) has been evaluated, based on our previous laboratory pervaporation experiments using Polyvinyl alcohol/Graphene oxide mixed matrix membranes. Accordingly, hybrid distillation-pervaporation and cascade pervaporation systems have been...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ramezani saadat abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor) ; Mousavi, Abbass (Supervisor)
Abstract
Today, energy crises and the environmental pollution have become serious problems for the human being. To address these problems, extensive efforts have been made to replace fossil fuels with other clean energy resources such as fuel cells. In the meantime, polymer electrolyte fuel cells are very important as they are now commonly used in the field of transportation, and their importance become even more obvious as we consider the fact that the by-products from electricity production by such cells are simply water and heat. This research studies the efficiency of the polymer called “polysulfone” as an electrolyte fuel cell, which has the above named mechanical thermal and chemical...

For investigating the practical aspect of the electrical method, the hydrothermal method as a known recycling method was studied too. The recycling process by electrical method conducted for two different time durations (2 and 4 min) at a temperature of 100 °C and recycling using the hydrothermal method was done at a temperature of 105 °C for 150 min under 4 bar pressure with subsequent refining step. Recycled fibers were analyzed by determination of the chemical composition of fibers and fiber classification. After that, laboratory MDF boards with dimensions of 35 × 35 × 12 mm3 and density of...
