Al doped ZnO NanoStructures by Electrodeposition & Solvothermal for Dye Sensitized Solar Cells Application
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Taghavinia, Nima (Supervisor)
Abstract
ZnO semiconductor has a wide band gap (3.3eV) and high electron mobility, making it a possible candidate for an effective structure-based Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) semiconductor. Efficiency of DSSC based on ZnO is lower than TiO2 due to its low chemical satability. It is well known that the energy conversion efficiency of DSSC depends on the electron transport in the photoelectrode so in this investigation we fabricated high transport photoelectrode by doping Al in ZnO nanostructures. DSSC based on Al doped and undoped ZnO nanosheet synthesized by electrochemical deposition. Current density-voltage (J-V) characterizations indicate that Al-doping in ZnO crystal structure increases...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Dehghani Firouzabadi, Rohollah (Supervisor)
Abstract
Nanotechnology with the tools, materials and their applications in areas such as engineering mechanics, materials, electronics, computers, and machines at the nanoscale is dealing. The Fnarvy, atoms and molecules as building materials, engineering bricks counts. In mechanical engineering branch, two aspects are discussed in view of nanotechnology, nano-scale structures and analyzing the behavior of phenomena that occur at the nanoscale. In this project, methods to analyze the behavior of nanoscale materials has been studied.

Synthesis of Silica Nanosheets Using Droplet-based Microfluidics
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Mohammadi, Aliasghar (Supervisor)
Abstract
The main purpose of this project is synthesis of the silica nano-sheets by means of microfluidic techniques. Continuous process, precise control of reaction condition, and higher production rate can be considered as main pros of silica nano-sheets synthesized by microfluidic platforms. General method can be explain as follow: first two oleic and aqueous phase are injected to the microfluidic system, then oleic phase breaks down in aqueous phase drop-wisely and by performing sol-gel reaction on the oil-water interface a silica crust is made on oil droplets. Eventually, oil droplets are left the system and broken down and silica nano-sheets are made. FESEM and microscopic images of...
Synthesize and Characterization of 2D WS2 Nano-layers for Next Generation Optoelectronic Devices
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Simchi, Abdolreza (Supervisor)
Abstract
Transition Metal Dichalcogenids (TMD) are types of 2D materials that exibit wide range of electronic, optical, mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties. These materials with MX2 general formula, have atract attentions with respect to their unusual properties because of their very limited dimensions. Their tunable properties and materials availibility make them attractive for wide range of applications. In recent years, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods are promising in preparing high quality TMD with scalable size, controllable thickness, and very excellent electronic properties. Also, chalenges are remaining in synthesis and transfering of TMD are difficulty for most of...
Preparation of Nanocomposites from Carbon Nanostructures and Transtion Metal Oxides and their use in Preparation of Hybrid Electrochemical Capacitors
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shahrokhian, Saeed (Supervisor)
Abstract
In the first part, we report a new and simple procedure for preparing reduced graphene oxide /nickel, cobalt hydroxide composite (Ni,Co-OH/rGO/NF via a fast and simple two-step electrochemical method including potentiostatic routes in the presence of Cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide )CTAB( as a cationic surfactant. In the first step, a piece of nickel foam (NF) is sonicated in a suspension of graphene oxide (GO, 6 mg/L) after dried in an oven, reduced by electrochemically. After that, Ni, Co LDH were co-deposited on the surface of rGO/NF. The resulting modified electrode afforded extremely high specific capacitance of 2133.3 F/g at a current density of 4 A g-1. FE-SEM results showed that...
Evaluation the Effect of Oxidized Nano MoS2 on Epoxy Novolac Corrosion Resistance and Rheological Properties
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ramezani Saadat Abadi, Ahmad (Supervisor) ; Mousavi, Abbas (Supervisor)
Abstract
This study investigated the effect of oxidized molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets on the anti-corrosion and rheological properties of epoxy resin. Raw MoS2 sheets were obtained as layered nanosheets with a thickness of 50 to 100 nm using acid washing, oxidation, and heat shock methods. The use of nanoparticle characterization tests such as XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, EDS, and TGA supports this claim. Then, in the next step, epoxy coatings containing different percentages (0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, and 1.5 wt%) of MoS2 nanosheets were prepared with polyamide hardener to investigate the effect of adding nanosheets and the optimal percentage. The best effect on the corrosion properties of the coating in a...
Synthesis and Evaluation of Molybdenum Disulfide for Combined Photothermal-chemo Therapy
, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Vosoughi, Manouchehr (Supervisor) ; Shokrgozar, Mohammad Ali (Supervisor) ; Delavari, Hamid (Co-Supervisor)
Abstract
New methods of cancer treatment are always the attention of researchers all over the world, among which the photothermal treatment method is of particular importance. In addition to being easy, this treatment method has the least invasiveness. Studies have shown that combining this method with other methods such as chemotherapy not only can be very effective in destroying tumor tissue, but can significantly reduce the side effects of chemotherapy drugs. In order to apply the photothermal treatment method, an effective photothermal agent is needed. Molybdenum disulfide nanosheets have performed successfully in this field, which have been of great interest, due to their high efficiency in...
The Morphological Effects of Surface Modified Mos2 Nanosheets and Mos2 Qd/G-C3n4 Heterostructure Prepared by Chemical Methods in Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (Her)
, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Moshfegh, Alireza (Supervisor) ; Naseri, Naeimeh (Co-Supervisor)
Abstract
The sustainable development in societies and the global energy challenge requires usage of clean energy systems that have attracted the attention of many researchers in recent decades. One of the major challenges in generating renewable resources is the problem of energy storage and imbalance between supply and demand cycles. Hydrogen as one of the clean energy carriers and due to having the highest energy density in terms of weight, is one of the important research topics. From this point of view, the preparation of electrocatalysts for hydrogen production, based on available materials, via simple and environmentally friendly production methods, was considered in this research....
