  7. Abstract:
  8. Both handling and ride comfort play an important role in the performance and quality of a vehicle, and all the vehicle companies in addition to power and transmission system, pays special attention to these properties in the way of improving their products. This thesis is performed with the aim of study on effects of rubber bushing's characteristics of suspension system on handling behavior of a homeland built vehicle (pride). Role angle, slip angle, yaw rate and lateral acceleration are interrelated and are important quantities in studying on handling behavior of a vehicle. We have chosen slip angle as one these quantities and studied on effects of rubber bushing's characteristics on slip angle behavior and then tried to improve slip angle with optimization on these properties. For this purpose a full vehicle model of Pride has been modeled and simulated via ADAMS/CAR software and correctness of this modeling has been verified by steady state and transient off-road tests. Then we used sensitivity analyses on rubber bushing's characteristics of suspension system to specify effective parameters. Finally we made an optimization on these effective parameters in the way of improving slip angle behavior and then this effect on objective value has been evaluated.
