- Abstract:
- corrosion of steel reinforcements in concrete is one of the most important reasons for durability reduction of offshore structures. To reduce the diffusion rate of ion reactivity in concrete and its reinforcement surface, different methods such as chemical change and coating of reinforcement and concrete are used. In this research for increase corrosion resistance, effect of Pozzolanic additive materials such as fly ash and micro silica , in optimized percentages, 25% and 10% by weight of cement respectively, the percentage of polypropylene fibers improved 2.5% volume of concrete and Ferrogard-901 industrial inhibitor with 3% by weight of cement in concrete mixing plan, were investigated. For evaluate the Reinforcing corrosion resistance (chemical composition) three different reinforcement such as st 37, stainless steel 304 and 316 were used. for review Reinforcing effect of surface coating compared to other methods, protective coating systems such as alkyd base primer, zinc rich epoxy primer, polyamide epoxy, polyurethane, polyamide epoxy, alkyd, alkyd–alkyd (two layer), polyamide epoxy primer-alkyd (two layer) and hot dip galvanized steel were used. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, accelerated corrosion in concrete, compressive strength of concrete, paint adhesion and pull out test were used. Results showed, cracking resistance for mixing design with Pozzolanic additive, ferrogard-901 inhibitor and with both of them (pozzolanic materials and inhibitor) increased to 7, 11.4 and 11.9 and corrosion resistance increased to 1.4, 2.4 and 2.9 respectively compare to first mixing design in 32V external anodic potential. Polypropylene fibers reduced the corrosion resistance 2.4 against the steel reinforcement without cover, in first mixing design. use the hot dip galvanized steel reinforcement , stainless steel 304 and 316 can increase corrosion resistance of reinforcement to 2.57, 1.96 and 4.96 times against without cover reinforced in first mixing designs. Protective system contain reinforcement with zinc rich paint coating in mixing design containing 10% micro silica , 25% fly ash and 3% ferrogard-901 inhibitor in 3.5% NaCl environment have maximum corrosion resistance
