  7. Abstract:
  8. Nowadays, urban storm water management and wastewater reuse are of main concerns of urban managers. Changes in surface specifications such as imperviousness, manning coefficient, pollutant buildup … during catchment transformation of land use from natural to urban can lead to undesirable change in quality and quantity of catchment's outlet runoff that could cause serious damage to receiving bodies. In recent decades, urban designing's approach has been using detention and quality improvement systems in order to manage urban runoff. Urban runoff and its treatment system (BMP: best management practices) and urban lake (as a receiving body) have been modeled in this research. Velenjak stream's catchment in the north of Tehran and Chitgar's lake urban catchment in region 22, which is under construction in northwest of Tehran, had been chosen. First, Velenjak stream's Catchment model was developed by SWMM model. Then the quantity and quality of urban runoff during three rainfall events were measured in 2009's spring and fall. These measurements were used to calibrate SWMM parameters. Then continuous modeling of Chitgar's lake catchment during 17 years was done by SWMM with Mehraabad station records. MUSIC model was used to model BMP's. MUSIC parameters calibration was done with results of continuous modeling of Chitgar's catchment by SWMM. Wastewater and Kan river were used in order to supply the lake's water. Then in four scenario's and four BMP's composition, lake input was modeled by MUSIC. Long term condition of lake was specified by Vollenwieder model's eutrophic index. Finally supplement of lake input in a combination of 14.5% urban runoff, 68% Kan river and 17.5% wastewater with using Swale, sedimentation basin, wetland and pond for quality improvement were proposed. Eutrophic index (Pλ) of lake would be 25 in long term operation
