- Due to the growth of population and the increasing number of auto-manufacturing plants in the world, governments have to find ways to decrease traffic, environmental pollution, etc. Providing parking lots is another problem with which we have to deal. It seems that designing and building multi-storey reinforced concrete parking structures is one of the ways to resolve this problem. According to complex behavior of concrete in compression and tension, it was so important to use an appropriate behavior model. In this research damage concept is used instead of crack concept which could models concrete behavior appropriately which causes acceptable results. According to uni-axial, bi-axial and tri-axial behavior of concrete, Lee and Fenves plastic-damage models them appropriately and with enough accuracy. Structures modeled based on ACI 318-2008 Code using direct method for with beam and without beam slabs and equivalent frame method for post-tensioned slabs. Computer modeling was with Abaqus program for two reasons first, it could model post-tensioned structures with high accuracy. Second, its plastic-damage part is based on Lee-Fenves model which is our basic assumption for modeling concrete behavior. concretes bearing capacity assumed to be 50 (MPa), reinforces bearing capacity 400 (MPa) and post tensioned tendons (grade 270 with 140 (〖mm〗^2) cross sectional area) 1890 (MPa).
In this research damage, displacement and Von-mises stress were outputs of this program and our sources for comparison. There were two other sources to compare our strucures concrete consumption volume (weight of structure) and cost of instruction. Finally results show the Post-tensioned structure was not cheaper than other kinds of structures but the weight of structure was about 15% less than other structures.
