- Abstract:
- Determining the failure rate or reliability of a system's subsystems, is an important and influential stage which is noteworthy not only in design and in manufacture phases but also in improvement phase. This process is called reliability allocation in literature. Reliability allocation guarantees more reliable and competitive product. The consequence of considering this phase in designing a product is to improve designing and manufacturing methods. As a result, it is possible to gain cheap and reliable product while is compatible with costumer's demands. Many factors and parameters which exist in the process of reliability allocation, have caused it to complicated process. A number of methods have been generated based on researcher's investigations. These methods have different attitudes in performing allocation process. By analyzing this, the researchers discovered remarkable disorders. These disorders are consequences of weaknesses that all methods share some of them. In this study according to importance and effectiveness of reliability importance measures, we have utilized them as an approach to suggest a new and effective method. These scales consider some criterion which neglecting them has caused disorders in reliability allocation methods. Although these scales have some weaknesses that are resolved primary to suggesting new reliability allocation method. After resolving reliability importance measure's weaknesses, we use them along with mathematical programming to propose new method. This new method resolves many shortcomings of reliability importance measures.
