  7. Abstract:
  8. Each year about 23 thousand people will be death in the road accidents in our country. According to the Legal Medicine Organization of Iran, about 24 percent of pedestrian fatalities in road accidents are the result of a collision with a car and because of that studying the different parameters that reduce pedestrian injury became an important issue to study. There are different techniques such as simulating crash tests on cadavers, experiments on pedestrian dummy and numerical simulation. The purpose of this project is simulating the car-pedestrian crash with numerical software called Madymo. Then optimize of the various parameters such as the height of the front bumper height, hood, windshield angle, size and curvature of the hood was applied to reduce injury to pedestrian. To carry out this study, at first the multi-body model of Pride vehicle was built in MADYMO simulation program and then the impact of the car to pedestrian was simulated. The result of the program was validated with real crash tests results include Pride vehicle and pedestrian dummy. Finally, with changing the geometric parameters of the vehicle, the shape of the front of the vehicle in order to achieve minimum injury to the pedestrian was optimized. In this case, 71% of 3 + AIS injury severity decreased to 8.6%
