- Abstract:
- The multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem is one of the most complex and most widely used problems in the project scheduling knowledge area and operations research science. Recently, a new type of this problem which is called multi-skilled project scheduling problem has been introduced in the literature. The aim of MSPSP is to schedule the activities regarding the precedence relationships and multi-skilled human resource constraints in such a way that the need of each activity to a subset of skills should be met by the qualified employees. In this thesis, in addition to taking the constraints of the standard problem into account, we consider a state in which the efficiency of project members in each skill improves by applying the skill and decreases if the related skill is not applied. Therefore, in addition to developing an exponential learning and forgetting function for calculating the amount of changes in the efficiency, we present a new model to solve the problem in which the maximization of the employees’ efficiency by the end of the project has been added to the first objective function that is minimizing the makespan. The outcome of this model is a mixed integer nonlinear programming that there is a possibility of relaxing a set of binary variables due to model’s special properties. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to acquire an appropriate linear approximation for the exponential learning and forgetting function. However, since the MSPSP is considered as a NP-hard problem, there is no possibility of solving real-world problems by the exact methods in a reasonable time. Hence, after solving some small instances exactly, two meta-heuristic algorithms by using a proposed fuzzy method have been developed to find suitable solutions for real-world problems. The results signify the efficiency of the two algorithms and also the remarkable effect of proposed fuzzy method on improving the results and calculation times
