  7. Abstract:
  8. In this thesis, we studied the oscillation of neutrino flavors and the measurement of mixing parameters through the detection of cosmic neutrinos at neutrino telescopes. Most of the astrophysical explosions predict the emission of neutrino flux and kilometer-scale detectors are under construction for the observation of these neutrinos. Detection of astrophysical neutrinos opens a new window to understand the neutrino properties and also the properties of astrophysical sources. In this thesis first we review the phenomenology of neutrino flavor oscillation and characteristics of neutrino mass matrix. By introducing a new class of invariants (under general transformation of lepton fields bases) we study, basis-independently, symmetries of mass matrix such as:reflection symmetries, μ-! symmetry and texture zero hypothesis. Basis-ndependent formulation of these symmetries substantially paves the way of model building. Then, we investigate the possibility of extracting ixing parameters (such as "13 and #), and also the measuring the initial flavor ration of neutrinos at astrophysical sources, by the detection of cosmic neutrinos at neutrino telescopes. In our analysis we take into account the limitations and uncertainties of flavor identification at neutrino telescopes and also energyspectrum uncertainties of cosmic neutrinos. Afterward, we study the probe of pseudo-Dirac neutrino scenario at neutrino telescopes. In pseudo-Dirac scenario, in addition to active neutrinos, sterile neutrinos with masses almost degenerate with active ones exist. Cosmic neutrinos with very long propagation distance to Earth provide a possibility to probe the tiny masssquared differences in pseudo-Dirac scenario. We will show that neutrino telescopes are valuable detectors for shedding light on both neutrino properties and also properties of astrophysical sources of expected high energy neutrinos
