- Abstract:
- Today in the most microwave and millimeterwave systems, one or more filters are used due to interference and noise phenomena. Microwave filters are manufactured in different environments such as waveguide, microstrip and SIW. For military and satellite applications that high power handling and low loss are in preference, the only appropriate environment is the waveguide. Other priority which is more important in satellite application is the low weight and small size of the product; Because of that, the idea of dual-mode waveguide filter was proposed in the early 70 decade. These kind of filters are able to produce two poles in one cavity resonator, which can decrease weight and size of the structure. Dual-mode waveguide filters were advanced in last decades and many structures have been proposed about them.In this thesis, with respect to a request from a company which is active in microwave systems field, we have designed, analysed and manufactured a Dual-mode filter in rectangular waveguide environment and in Q band. The author has searched papers in this field and found that the product of this thesis is the first dual-mode filter in Q band. The main problem which should have been considered in this thesis was choosing the appropriate structure to ascertain the filter because of the high sensitivity of response with respect to size changing in the used frequency band
