  7. Abstract:
  8. There are different methods for forming, like extrusion, deep drawing, forging and etc. the method used for forming depend on the properties of the material. This present research, is about line heating method that is applied for forming the heavy plates of the ship’s hull. Because of simple instruments that are used in these method, it is very economical way for using in ship building. Development of the ship building industry make appeals for automation of this method and have done many researches about this method.
Like other methods of material forming, this method also includes large deformations and nonlinear behavior. The type of deformation is thermo elastic-plastic. The experimental tests had proven that applying this method needs special skills for recognition and controlling the major parameters. Choosing appropriate flame and traveling speed, are main problem in implementation by hands. In tests the effective power and specification of the flame measured for modeling in ANSYS. The thermal-structural coupled simulation was done. The cooling of water by using of the hot plate cooling models simulated. This simulation had good agreements with experiences. By the using the flame’s specifics that measured, in addition of the modeling tests, the effect of speed changes was studied and a graph for determining the speed for needed bending extracted. Based on these graphs, we can predict maximum bending angle and each flame have extreme bending angle
