  7. Abstract:
  8. Man’s struggle for optimization in different areas has been an endless one. Optimizing methods of cancer treatment is not an exception. Because of numerous side effects of anti-cancer drugs, drug delivery systems (DDS) have been recently given much interest. Considering some aspects, DDS are helpful in reducing harmful effects of anti-cancer drugs and more efficient healing by these drugs: first by reducing the dosage of drug by controllable and sustainable release of drug in a kinetic (diffusion) pattern; second by smart release of drug in target tissue which in turn protects sound tissues not to be in contact with drug.In this study, three kinds of nanoparticles have been used for DDS synthesis: 1.graphene oxide nanoparticles (GO) 2.iron magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4) 3.MCM-41 mesoporous silica nanoparticles GO nano-sheets were used as a support to accommodate MCM-41 and Fe3O4 nanoparticles. MCM-41 mesoporous silica nanoparticles were used for doxorubicin anti-cancer drug. Since cancerous tissues have lower pH than healthy tissues, pH-sensitive moieties was attached to the core of DDS. Finally for a more controllable drug release and also introducing PEG biocompatible groups onto the DDS, the core was encompassed by a polymeric shell. By measuring in in-vitro situation, ‘Loading content percentage’ and ‘entrapment efficiency percentage’ of DDS revealed to be 21% and 93.5% respectively. To confirm the structure of synthesized compounds, these analyses were used: FT-IR, CHN, XRD, BET, SEM, TEM, EDXA, AFM, zeta potential, DLS and in-vitro drug release
