- Abstract:
- Suspension systems play a significant role in vehicles. They are responsible for providing ride comfort to the passengers and maintain car handling. Vibrations induced by the road can cause harmful effects on human body and this reveals the importance of designing and controlling the suspension system. Semi-active control is a reliable and safe method that has attracted a great deal of attention in the suppressing the car vibration. MR damper is a sample of semi-active control method. In most of the studies that have been done in literature the human body model has not been considered in designing the control strategy. In this study, a complete model of suspension system integrated with the human body model is considered. A semi active control strategy method based on the sky-hook reference model is designed for the suspension system. The simulation results show that the vibration of the body part has been decreased compare to the passive method.
At the second part, we have designed a sliding mode control to suppress the vibration. SMC is a robust control method that can deal with uncertainties. sky-hook model is selected as the reference model and the goal is to track this desired system to provide comfort for the passengers. The simulation results show that the car body is tracking the reference model precisely; also the vibration domain has been reduced.
