  7. Abstract:
  8. Physicians use charts that are prepared by experiments on animals or humans to prescribe drug dosage for patients. This method requires much more time by the Ministry of Health to approve new drugs to be used in health-care centers. Furthermore،we have no sight on how a specific drug is going to be diffuse in our body. In order to predict the distribution of a drug or any minerals in the kidney we need to model it. The first step would be modeling the important species that influence the urine concentrating mechanism. Due to the complications in modeling that mechanism especially in the inner medulla zone، we hadn’t solid information regarding that area. It is about half a century that researchers are carrying out project regarding mathematical modeling of the kidney، however، since the governing equations are mostly complicated mathematical equations، mathematicians are the most notable researcher who have worked on this topic and have developed different models. Moreover، in the recent years Mechanical Engineers have presented three dimensional models for cortical zone and outer medulla part that showed lot of advantages over one dimensional models. In this study we will model the inner medulla of the rat kidney with a three dimensional geometry، in which take a huge part of this project. Due to lack of coherent information about the inner medulla we had to develop the geometry by ourselves which concluded to geometry that is built from detailed anatomical and physiological facts. In the end we will compare our results with others’ numerical and experimental works
