  7. Abstract:
  8. One of the ways to enhance the safety and economic performance of nuclear power plants, is to choose an appropriate policy for arrange the reactor fuel assembly in the beginning of each cycle. There are variety of ways to optimize the layout of the fuel in the reactor core, but to achieve more than one goal, choosing multi-objective method can be used. One of the intelligent optimization methods is the genetic algorithms that emulate nature of biological processes and can be used to optimize two or more of the target. The goals of this research is to increase the neutron multiplication factor is to make maximum use of the fuel in the reactor and maintain the radial power peaking factor for more safety of fuel assembly. In this research used from matlab software for implementation of genetic algorithms and also DRAGON nuclear code for cell calculation and DONJON for core factors. In this study, the reactor core inventory at the end of first cycle was obtained by calculation of fuel assembly burnups using DRAGON code. Then by applying the practical restrictions of the second cycle and the optimum number of iterations primary generations and using operational data Bushehr NPP, optimium arrangement of fuel assembly for the second cycle is achieved. The arrangement is benchmarked. We showed that new arrangement obtained by GA has 5 % lower ppf and 0,5 day longer cycle
