  7. Abstract:
  8. Organic dye couldn’t be treated by conventional method (biological method) due to their durable structure. In recent years, graphene based adsorbent has become more popular; this is because of high specific surface area and presence of numerous functional group on its surface. Due to the widespread application of organic dye in different industry especially in textile industry, stability and toxicity nature of them, finding an appropriate and cost effective method in treatment of this pollutant is very important. In this study, preparing and characterization of 3-D gel magnetic graphene oxide/kappa carrageenan was conducted and its ability of dye adsorption was tested. For this purpose, at first graphene oxide Nano-plate was synthesized by using Hummers' method and then magnetic by using co-precipitation method. Finally by using of kappa- carrageenan and a simple method 3-D gel synthetized. Mechanical and chemical properties and morphology of synthetized adsorbent investigated by XRD, FTIR, TGA, FESEM. In order to investigate the ability of synthetized adsorbent in adsorption of organic dye, the effect of initial concentration, time, pH, dose of adsorbent were investigated. Also Adsorption kinetic and isotherm investigated, it was found that adsorption is well described by pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm models, respectively
