- Abstract:
- The aim of this research is inroducing appropriate intensity measure to improve the ability of endurance time dynamic analysis to estimate the seismic response of structures and structure response distribution function. In endurance time method, the structure subjected to intensifying artificial accelerograms and we’ll find structure responses at different return periods just by one-time seismic analysis. Also, according to the high computional time of other dynamic analysis’s, the endurance time method is used which decreases the computional time simultaneously the dynamic predicted responses are accurate enough. In this way, we have a concept known as goal time which is duration of artificial accelerograms subjected to structures , the main part of this resaearch is how to create mapping the goal time to stimulate levels, this work was done by using Intensity measures such as Sa(T). Choosing appropriate intensity measure have a important role in reducing the error of dynamic analysis, in this research, we evaluate performace of different intensity measures by using several single degree of freedoms and 4-, 8- and 12-story steel structures to improve estimation precision of structral response. The structure response distribution function based on intensity measure is a important component of performace-based earthquake engineering
