  8. The produced crude oil from the petroleum reservoirs usually has a value of brine (water and salt) this matter can be caused the corrosion of refinery equipment. The large part of this brine creates a stable emulsion with oil, that it couldn't be separated easily. For separation and demulsification of this emulsion, some chemical, mechanical, thermal and electrical methods can be executed. In chemical method, demulsifier materials can be added to water-in-oil emulsion. Different parameters such as properties of oil, type and concentration of demulsifiers, volume factor of water and etc., can affect the efficiency of water-in-oil emulsion separation. In this study, emulsification mechanism, surfactant substance effects, chemical demulsifiers, and mechanism of separation were investigated. The final goal of this experimental study is optimizing demulsifier concentration at different conditions for increasing the water separation form crude oil emulsion of Asmari and Bangestan. At first the stable emulsion prepared and then series of bottle tests have been done to determine the best concentration of commercial demulsifier and amount of water separation at different conditions and then find a relation between parameters by fuzzy logic inference system. . In this study, the impact of temperature, water percent, salinity and demulsifier dosage has been experimented to identify their relation with separation. The method of jointed fuzzy logic system-PSO optimization has been used to reach the optimum value of demulsifier concentration. Chemical demulsifiers investigated in this study are used in desalination units of national south oil company. This project is proposed by National south oil company, demanded by the desalination unit with considering the available facilities
