  7. Abstract:
  8. Today, global warming is one of the main concerns of human society. Many factors contribute to global warming and air pollution. Air pollution in the metropolis cities has influenced human life. Vehicles are considered as one of the major sources of air pollution. Vehicle air conditioners bring conform to passengers, but they increase fuel consumption. Increased fuel consumption results in the production of pollutants and air pollution. In this study, the ejector cooling system is proposed as a cooling system of a car air conditioning system, and its performance is studied. To this aim, first, an ejector cooling cycle equivalent to the compression cooling cycle is designed. The ejector is designed for the proposed cycle and is numerically simulated by the computational fluid dynamics method. The pattern search algorithm is applied to optimizes the designed ejector. It is demonstrated that this cycle has approximately 15% energy consumption of the conventional car air conditioning system at the same cooling load. Moreover, the obtained results showed that in low consumption cars whose exhaust heat is low, especially at low engine speeds, this cycle is not able to perform. One option to resolve this problem in applying a hybrid compression-ejector cooling cycle
