  8. Technology is changing the travel behavior of people around the world. Automated vehicles offer new solutions to some of the problems in transportation. This technology can improve traffic safety, land use development, traffic quality, and fuel consumption. Nevertheless, these solutions can be applied, only if Automated Vehicles are accepted and used by people. Due to a lack of mass production in the industry yet, automated vehicles’ adoption and market share are not yet determined and therefore certain to happen. This study surveyed 334 Iranian truck drivers in October 2019 to examine their opinions of heavy-automated vehicles (i.e. automated trucks), the factors and variables that affect the acceptance of such vehicles and the relations between these factors. In this regard, Partial Least Squares was used for Structural Equation Modeling, which resulted in a structural model for acceptance of heavy-automated vehicles, based on behavioral models e.g. Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. Example results include that the Performance Expectancy has the greatest effect on the acceptance of H-AV with a path coefficient of 0.362 and other factors like Facilitating Conditions and Effort Expectancy (path coef. 0.261 and 0.252 respectively), Aggressive Violations in driving behavior (path coef. 0.271) and educational background (total effect of 0.240), with educational background having both direct effect and mediating effect and age influencing the dependent variable only through mediation
