- Abstract:
- LiFi is a bidirectional wireless optical networking technology that uses commercial LEDs for data transmission. In simpler terms, LiFi is considered a light-based WiFi that uses light instead of radio waves to transmit information. Using light to transmit data allows LiFi to deliver a couple of advantages, such as working in areas susceptible to electromagnetic, working across higher bandwidth while offering higher transmission speeds. Finally, the security of this technology is much more than other ways of communication since the light cannot penetrate through walls and doors, so other people who are not in the room could not access data.In this dissertation, a Li-Fi receiver that uses three different colors, Red, Green, and Blue, to send data at a higher rate is designed. Also, by using PAM-8 Modulation, the data rate is increased to more than 1 Gb/s. New Structure for TIA, Ambient Light Insensitive DCOC, and finally Fast Clock and Data Recovery Circuit, made the final design a good candidate for Li-Fi applications. Simulation results have shown that without any focal lens, and in a typical illumination situation, the receiver could be used to receive data at the rate of up to 1 Gb/s. In addition, a special circuit for LiFi receiver testing has been proposed. This circuit facilitates calibrated measurements and analysis of the receiver
