  7. Abstract:
  8. Blood is one of the most important fluids in the human body, consisting of three parts: red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. The mechanical properties of red blood cells are important in many diseases. The study of viscosity and other mechanical properties of red blood cells in recent years has attracted the attention of scientists in this field. The mechanical properties of red blood cells are related to the outer membrane and its cytoskeleton, and the study of these components can predict the behavior of red blood cells in diseases. The thyroid gland is located in front of the neck and secretes hormones that control many chemical processes in different parts of the body. Thyroid disorders are associated with changes in the pattern of blood clots and cause changes in red blood cells. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of these hormones on the mechanical properties of red blood cells. Optical pliers have many applications in various fields. In the field of life sciences, this tool is used to manipulate living cells. To apply or measure forces of the order of piconytone or even sub-piconytone, tweezers are very useful tools because they are non-destructive, so this tool was very important in understanding the mechanical properties of red blood cells. In this study, we used red tweezers and microspheres whose surface was coated with antibodies to connect to red blood cells, and stressed the red blood cells at certain speeds.By collecting the data obtained from the experiment and analyzing them, the mechanical properties of erythrocytes, including the viscoelastic properties and elastic properties of erythrocytes of a healthy person and erythrocytes of a working thyroid were examined. Examination of the elastic properties of erythrocytes, which is related to the hardness of the erythrocytes, showed that the stiffness of the thyroid erythrocytes is 1.5 pN / μm, which is fewer than the hardness of healthy erythrocytes. Examining the viscoelastic properties of erythrocytes, which is related to the viscosity of the erythrocytes, it was found that the underactive thyroid erythrocyte is softer than the healthy erythrocytes, so that the average of the numbers obtained from the power spectrum on the force diagram curve is equal to less erythrocyte erythrocytes.0.8936 ± 0.09, which is higher than healthy blood cells and indicates that viscous thyroid blood cells are less expensive. By examining the viscoelastic properties, it was shown that the cell behavior follows the theory of power law but does not follow the linear viscoelastic theory
