  7. Abstract:
  8. The turbulent waves of the sea and their impact have always been one of the challenges of marine activities. Recently, with the world economic development and the boom of maritime tourism, providing comfort for the occupants of ships and boats has become one of the issues of engineering concern. Therefore, different methods are used to address this challenge. In this article, we first review these methods and then try to choose the optimal method and design a system for a relatively small boat that can compete with other methods. The method of choice is "damping mass", which has never been used to reduce the movement of boats. In this paper, by obtaining the equations governing the physics of the problem, we proceed as analytically as possible so that the system is not limited to specific operating conditions. Finally, a system is designed using existing data that can reduce the amplitude of angular motion oscillations around its longitudinal axis by more than 50% (which is the most important motion to reduce boat oscillations). Of course, the system can be designed to be more efficient than this value, but due to other design limitations, the system is limited
