- Abstract:
- At present, urban aircraft do not exist. An essential question arises: if such aircraft were to be established, what infrastructure would be necessary for landing, takeoff, and service provision? Can the existing airport infrastructure be adapted for urban aircraft, or would a different approach be required? Consequently, the focus of this current research is to address this issue. The research involves the development of a multi-agent model using the Python programming language to study how important parameters such as the operation rule between aircraft and station, capacity and speed of the aircraft, and the distance between stations are related to the operational indicators of the network such as the waiting time of passengers, number of passengers that arrived at their destination, and the flight cost of the network. The simulation results indicate that utilizing a waiting time rule (where the aircraft departs the station after a fixed time) is more suitable than employing a capacity rule (where the aircraft departs the station once it reaches full capacity). Additionally, the study reveals that the capacity of the intra-city transportation network using 4-seater planes exceeds that of networks using 8-seater and 12-seater planes
