  7. Abstract:
  8. The use of natural gas as a thermal fuel is only a part of the various efficiency cases of this precious material. The increasing need for gas to provide energy and fuel, as well as the currency obtained from its sale and export, and the existence of common natural gas resources with neighboring countries, doubles the need to pay attention to this category. The increasing expansion of the quantitative use and diversity of natural gas consumption as an abundant and cheap energy carrier, as well as the imbalance between the supply and demand of natural gas in cold seasons, require planning to create strategic reserves in the country. These reserves play an important strategic role in establishing the necessary balance between supply and demand in different seasons of the year, as well as having a greater impact on the global energy markets. Therefore, countries like Iran are looking for solutions to create a reliable support to resolve this conflict. In between, there are many solutions such as importing gas from other countries, storing natural gas in underground tanks, creating gas storage tanks in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG), etc. Due to the fact that the fuel supply of power plants is very important, it is important to investigate other methods of natural gas storage for the lack of gas in power plants. One of the natural gas storage methods is the construction of small LNG production units and related tanks in the vicinity of high-consumption and remote areas. In these small complexes, in the hot seasons of the year, the gas can be converted into liquid and injected into the gas supply network when necessary in the cold days of winter, so if it is realized, in addition to reducing environmental pollution, it will reduce the maintenance and repair costs of power plant equipment and ease the They will be exploited, and in addition to this, the decrease in diesel imports and the increase in the export of fuel oil, which are used in power plants, will lead to an increase in the country's foreign exchange income. In this research, the economic study of the production and storage of liquefied natural gas for use for peak demand and also for export to the small markets of the region is discussed. In addition, the lack of technical knowledge in this regard and the use as fuel in heavy vehicles are other necessities that need to be paid attention to
