  7. Abstract:
  8. Today's electric power industry is unthinkable without high-power electronic converters. Statcom is one of the critical equipment; which is known for its quick response in reactive power compensation/supply. Losses in a high-power system are considerable. Most of these losses are caused by switching. In a conventional system, the cooling system is used only to control the temperature and stable operation of the switches. In this project, an attempt is made to evaluate the temperature of the outlet fluid for use in the Rankine cycle with organic materials by modeling the heat-generating parts in the Statcom equipment. Also, the unification of the Stacom cooling system with the Rankine cycle system and the removal of the heat exchanger between the two are investigated to increase the efficiency of the system. For this purpose, different two-phase and dielectric fluids are entered and analyzed in the model to select an optimal fluid in terms of heat transfer, efficiency in the organic Rankine cycle system, as well as in terms of availability, economy, and suitability for the environment
