- Abstract:
- This research evaluates reliability analysis on the problem of a curved beam vibration in the horizontal plane with the aim of investigating the effect of the uncertainty of the parameters of the problem on the dynamic response of the curved beam under the excitation of the moving oscillator. Curved beams are widely used in various engineering applications such as arched bridges, railway tracks and amusement park structures. However, there have been very few studies on curved beams under the stimulation caused by moving mass. Modelling the moving object as a moving oscillator, which is one of the more advanced and complete modelling of the passing vehicle, along with analyzing the reliability and considering the uncertainty of the parameters of the vibration problem of the curved beam in the horizontal plane, including the mass and speed of the moving oscillator, the roughness of the rail track surface and etc. can be a useful and new research in this field that results can be used for optimal and safe designs. In this research, after formulating the differential equations governing the dynamic equilibrium of the problem, the command code is written in a deterministic way. Then, by upgrading this code, the reliability analysis of the problem is solved, for this purpose, two important steps must be taken, including assigning appropriate probability distributions to each of the parameters affecting the problem and defining important limit state functions in the field of design. Finally, after the analysis, the response sensitivity to the uncertainty of each of the problem parameters is determined. In addition, these results can be compared for all types of modeling modes of the moving object, such as moving force, moving mass, or moving oscillator. Conducting these sensitivity analyses and comparisons can be used in completing and developing the design criteria for horizontal curved beams used in arched bridges, rails and railroad bridges and other structures
