  8. The aim of this research is to examine the impact of digital platforms on the sustainable development of countries. This study employs a quantitative approach to determine the relationship between the development of digital platforms and sustainable development from economic and environmental perspectives. To achieve this, a composite index for the development of digital platforms is defined based on previous studies. Subsequently, data for its sub-indicators are collected from reliable international databases such as the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union, and others, enabling the calculation of this index for 42 countries during the period 2014 to 2022. The results of panel data analysis using regression indicate a positive and significant relationship between the development of digital platforms and economic development, as well as a negative and significant relationship between the development of digital platforms and greenhouse gas emissions intensity. Furthermore, the level of the countries’ development serves as a moderating factor in both relationships. Accordingly, the findings of this research complement previous studies in this field and demonstrate that digital platforms can play a significant role in achieving sustainable development
