  7. Abstract:
  8. Despite eye-catching progressive trends in highway safety, there have been a great number of unpleasant incidents in highways. A number of 8841 people died in road accidents in the first 6 month this year with 1.7% increase compared to the accidents occurred in 1396 [59]. Operation of a modeling process shall provide the engineers with more opportunities to identify the affecting factors in roads incidents. Safety infrastructure management is mainly aimed at ensuring the efficient measurement, systematic recognition and consequently deterioration of road accidents when they have been designed, constructed and used [37]. Building information modeling (BIM) tends to be a developed managerial and technological concept extensively applied in the whole planning, decision-making, designing, construction and operation procedures. With regard to BIM technology, transportation joint project management could bring about efficient communications through simulation and architectural visualization. The main services for highway construction management have been integrated in BIM integrated platform in order to disassemble the communications, exchange the information and alter the previous integrated information situation and consequently improve the information management levels. BIM model has been accomplished to not only manage the project information and integrate the basic documents with designing plans but also automatically produce the processed information and finalize accounts for covering the entire traffic construction projects [44].This research is mainly aimed at taking advantage of BIM developed potentials and introducing a framework to reduce the highway incidents. In order to meet the given goal, three steps are to be taken into account:1-A review of literature and papers on information recording and analysis of roads conditions as well as the identification of accident-driven factors to consequently reduce the incidents and increase the roads safety. 2-Develop a framework to record the information and analyze the roads conditions and identify the accident- driven factors through building information modeling.3-Operating the designed model and measuring its efficiency in a real project. The aforementioned framework is going to be applied to a case study (highway) and its efficiency will be measured. Its potential efficiency to reduce the incident rate and increase the road safety will be measured along with all the limitations and drawbacks involved
